So I'm a trainee WS (2204 currently). I've got a small house on Tatooine that serves as my home, shop and workshop. I'm fussy about appearance (people do tend to remember my shop, which probably brings in a good deal of repeat business), and have about 100 items of my house allowance on decoration alone. I could shave this down a bit, but not that much if I want to keep the current level of decoration.

In addition to the decorations, of course, I have crates of subcomponents (about 30 crates at the moment - all carefully piled up and nudged out of perfect alignment so they look natural of course!), a satchel of harvester deeds (up to 20 of them), a backpack full of resources and a further 20 or so resources stocked in the house, taking me up to the limit for a small Tat house.

I'm running out of space! What can I do?

I can't afford to run another SWG account, so an alt is out of the question. I'm chary of using vendors as I'd hate to see valuable resources get deleted from the stockroom if I didn't manage to log in in time to save them! That being said,I do have some vendors to spare being a 4443 merchant - I've currently got a "Workshop Slave" and a "Housekeeper" who yells at customers about the amount of dust they're tracking in all over her newly cleaned floors!). I certainly can't afford another house - my lots are too precious (2 for the house, 2 for factory, leaving only 6 for harvesters which isn't really enough).

I'm going to need more space, soon - any suggestions what I might do?

Well I got a couple suggestions for you. Did you remeber your saftey deposit box in the bank. I know it's a pain especially if you don't live near to a bank but it can help. You can store resourcesin your factory hoppers . Rent a spare lot from sombody and putyour factories there and then build another house.

Place a merchant in the back room. You can do several creative things to hide it (bothan in a closet, gungan head statue over them) and still be able to acess them without having it obvious. Or you can just name them and place them in a little nitch. Put everything at max price and with the exception of having to 'resell' items you have a great storage device. One warning, never put things on there for less than what a crazed nutter would pay. Someone just might pay it.

Of course this does take developing merchant skills but it sounds like your already working on that.

if you have a friend you (totally) trust have them place a house near enough its convenient and use its items for storage/work. That way you can have a sleek decorated shop and a cluttered workplace where you just hang your backpacks.

Oh and a note, Ive noticed that if two vendors are used you can put one on one and then post it from the store room to another vendor. I dont know if you have a range on it but if it works you could put items in your workshop store room and then post them for sale from your sales shop.

Unfortunately for you my friend your problem with storage is only beginning. I’m a Master and I have a huge amount of items to store. You have resources galore subcomponents for guns crates of already made guns, various rare parts and krat tissue if your lucky. In the end I have three houses two factories a couple solar gens and god knows how many heavy harvesters. It’s a balancing act between lots you have available and resources you need to gather. In the end the vendor things is a good option I have a vendor for sales I use and one for overstock. What I do is list the price on resources as 99999999999 so no one is tempted to buy it

The items will remember to which vendor they belong and will be put back for sale there, so you cannot put something from your storage vendor to the sales vendor without actually going there. But in some cases if the storage vendor is near your sales vendor, you will be able to retrive items from the storage vendor stockroom to your inventory and then put it up for sale from there in the sales vendor.

So basically the items go back for sale at the same vendor they were put in, which is quite useful for maintaining off-plant vendors where just some items have expired the 30 days limit. A selection in which vendor you would like to place the item would be more valueable, but hey the vendor systems is not very user friendly anyway (why is a resell button missing, etc.), just be thankful that such a feature actually exists...

Well, your options are limited if you're stuck with 1 account and you do not do lot trading.

I run 3 accounts, so I have a whole character's 10 lots alloted to houses and factories for storage.

Then I have 18 free lots between the others for harvesters.

For optimum efficnency, use factories as storage space. They get 100 items per lot. Houses are only 75 per lot.

Don't forget about the bank vault either. I filled mine with 100 100k stacks (10 million units, yea baby!)

Time to have a garage sale, methinks...

Might sound obvious but I don't think I saw anyone mention it yet, you do have a backpack space. I carry a lot of resources in my pack, in addition to harvestor deeds, survey tools, crate of Bespin, etc.. Otherwise just try and load things into factories.

I did the whole range of these things but still kept running out of space... the only thing that has saved me from having to cut back harvest/production is storing parts in the factories until use (output hopper never over 50%), using the input hoppers for temp storage, using houses for permanent storage AND having a vendor for resources...

I have 4 houses, 14 available factories, 3 bank vaults, and the storage merchant (resources extracted for each run - no backpack storage required anymore)... What compounds the problem is I am Armor AND Weapons... AND until about 3 months ago I was a Chef as well... PLUS one of my alts is a doc... As you can see my storage problems are compounded greatly... If I didn't use all the techniques for storage I wouldn't be a multi-crafter... Come to think of it I prolly wouldn't have the 3 accounts of my own and be outsourcing harvesting to guild mates

Lot swap 3 or 4 small houses will an established crafter on another server

Buy 5 droids all with crafting stations/storage/med module and that is an extra 50 storage

use hoppers on your factories

Have a good friend or guildie drop a few houses for you.

I personaly use each of these and still run out of space. You willnotice i didnt recomend using a vendor cause there is too much stuff you can be selling with them and they are limited way to low to be wasting. I have enc and eff slice, suits, pups, and a sliced offers vendor and im out (replace mine with speed/damage/unsliced) i even have to use my mains old vendors to sale my CM meds, doc stuff and skill tapes so vendors are at a premium formany people already.
