Hi folks. Yes I am an alt, but I'm honest one and newly dedicated to WS long-term.

I've read the important stickies here, but I was wondering if anyone could give a newb MWS some pointers:

1) is there any particular resource I should hoard? (thinking specifically here of certain rare metals. Which ones?)

Start by looking for resources for ABPH and other advanced comonents. Then start looking for named resources for master level weapons. Also, find out what the best ferrous and non-ferrous metals are for OQ/CON.

2) are the resource turnovers for metal regular? That is, every 6-7 days or less (not thinking of frequency here, but duration)

A specific resource will spawn for aprox. 7 days. They are staggered so they dont all turn over at the same time/day.

3) how much should I worry about rare components (e.g. tissue, vibro motors)? Can I make a business without them?

Don't worry about these until you have the best resources possible. No point in adding a 100K krayt tissue that only gets your weapon up to the non-krayt version of your competitor.

4) is there any kind of pricing guide around (want to be reasonble)?

This will vary by weapon and server. Check WS on your server for the best guide. Or you can simply charge a cpu for each weapon.

5) how much should I worry about high-quality complex weapons, and should I have a larger amount of basic weapons (like for grinding)? Asking I guess about stock ratios here.

The more training and skill a weapon takes to earn the slower it will sell with certain exceptions such as the T21. However, the other side of the coin is that once a person qualifies for a new weapon, they probably won't use any more lower level weapons.

6) how much should I worry about experimentation tapes? Can I get by without them? Or are they the "end game"; that is, to be great you need +25 experimentation?

Damage and speed you will be able to cap without any extra points. The extra points help to boost secondary stats such as range or condition.

Basically, other than reading everything that's out there, I was hoping to get some helpful advice from some of you that have been around for awhile. I do appreciate the complexity of the craft, which is why I want to try it seriously for awhile. Trying to stay positive with everything that's (not) going on. Thanks!!
