Hey guys new to the Weapon smithing. Wondered about how much its going to cost me to get 2 extra experimentation points? I know its different for every server but im just looking for a ballpark figure. And how many tapes with + are needed for the full 2 points? Is it +25?

You only need +20 in tapes to get 12 points at master. And it's hard to say on price. I've seen anywhere from 500k to 2 mil per +1 recently.

You need +20 tapes to get the extra 2 points

As for price yeah its very different from server to server, but I myself paid 4 mill for a +8 about a month ago so that should be a kind of guidance.

Also the lower the tapes the cheaper and if you dont care about bing able to wear a bagpack at first you can get the first +3 from the Weaponsmith bandolier which shouldnt cost you much as its a craftable item (from a reward schematic)

But about 7-10 mill is what full suits seems to go for atm on my server

I got my20 points from the belt (5)...then 2 nice BH targets dropped an 11 and ehm the remainder lol

so I actually had the tapes before I made my toon WS (3 cheers for the token respec)

My first suit cost me pre-cu about 22 mil

I later got a +25 all in one ca for 16 mil and sold my suit for 14 mil

I recently bought a +12 Exp CA on Intrepid for 4 mill, was +20 before this but wanted to rid myself of the Bandolier.

Or you could've done what I did and bamboozled the former armoursmith corro (caile) for a full suit...

Well, he did say it was a gift...

Other than that, although it depends on the economy of your server...500k per point seems to be the average. For really high tapes (ie +10's, maybe a +25)...I'd expect to pay much more than if I was buying a +1 or +5.

In the 2 years it took me to get it I spent only 9 million. Hey I'm cheap and determined to get the best price.

Don't let anyone kid you.

Nowadays they are cheap. With the number of people running High-End BH missions, CA's have become easier to attain.

My suggestion? Get a MBH (or 4000) BH and go kill marks for a few days. You'll end up with CA's you can trade or sell to get the ones you need. With any luck, you'll end up with a weaponsmith tape.

Saves on your cost and you'll end up with nice components as well once you attain that 12th point.

Do a forum search on your particular server. Also do a bazaar search and compare prices. If you are willing to have many pieces of clothing then you may end up paying less per point as the smaller CAs usually sell for cheaper. As with all things vigilance is key and dont miss out on a good deal. Don't waste your creds buying more than +120 unless you really want to.... hehe, I have +160/+156

About two weeks after the CU I bought 17 points worth of tapes for 11.5 million. Someone gave me the toolbelt for free. Some day I really need to buy three more points and get rid of that stupid belt...

what's wrong with using the belt???

and come to think of it....best way to get to 12pts might actually be doing bh missions till you get the tapes....you'l have LOADS of slicing comps and weapon enhancers by the time you get the tapes....and if you pick up some surveying you do do resource collecting while tracking your target
