They make your WS suit look more 'complete'

Since they took out the loss of components/resources on a critical fail on assembly, they don't seem to have any use. I suppose they would increase the chance of getting an 'amazing' success on assembly, but what does that really do?

You should be able to pick them up cheaply (along with weapon repair), and If you come across good cheap ones, I'd pick them up and complete your suit. Who knows, they may actually work one day.
