Yup, making the best weapons is entirely about resources. He who has the best resources wins. =)

I like the dog comparison, I may have to put that in my sig.

Ooh oooh! New Pet Peeve(s):

New #1: 'Will you build me a Krayt FWG5?' (insert explaination) 'You suck! Someone's selling them on the forums'.

New #2: 'Why is your factory so SLOW!?'

WS is really like a work... but the difference (imho) is that i LIKE to work that way

I'm only 0/1/0/0 on WS but some of my DTL20a rifle was sold recently at a good price. Grinding is boring... but when i'm bored, i switch on crafting some low level weapons (dl44 pistol, dtl20a rifle, metal staff, ecc) and is great when someone buy it and ask you for more

This is a very good question. As a Master weaponsmith we are kind of like the social workers of the galaxy. Everyone needs your services. And people will constantly ask you for weapons. And of course if you have decent resources, you do get well paid. However, I find that I'm tied to the job. I constantly have to track resources. Constantly checking harvesters. Constantly trying to keep my 3 factories running as much as possible. I still enjoy it. But it does feel like a job.

With over 1.5 million credits worth a harvesting equipment out in the field with only 5-7 days on maintenance, I can't just take time off the game. I need to log in at lease every other day to check harvesters, setup factory runs, and re-stock vendors. Like I said, it does pay well. But you do pay a price.

I agree with what someone said up-thread though, the customers make or break your day, the worst type by far are the 'distance browsers' and the 'just the besters'. Now mind you I believe in customer service, and when I'm at my store I'll give you stats on a gun yo're looking for just to compare the stats... but the 'distance browsers' will keep asking and keep asking. While it's nice to know they're interested, if you get caught in that endless loop you won't get any work done and often enough you won't get a sale. This are the same folks who are more than willing to buy a scout blaster... if you'll deliver it to Talus.

The distance browsers are the worst. Whenever I'm asked about stats and pricing, I will e-mail the customer the WP to my shop, and kindly say the weapon is on the vendor, and I dont remember the exact stats off hand.

Broken:

That exact same thing happened to me! I had a ton of friends, enemies, and potential customers listed with comments for each one, and one of the patches blew them all away and now I can't seem to get comments to stick. They'll be there for a few days, and then poof. Gone. It's killing me.
