I see 12pt Weaponsmithy as a buffer zone for those bad crafts.
Just today i was making someone a weapon with 150+ tissues and i got a moderate success on the ABPH, so the 12pt helped me fix that. Not that a major difference would be noiticed but id feel bad inside.
go 12pt!

12pts doesn't = Uber, that's all your post is saying.
+25 Assembly, +25 Experimentation plus the best resorces to ever spawn on your server DOES!
Anyone who even needed to use a 30k resorce deed on one ( or more of the resorces) even if we have our +25 Experimentation and Assembly are not "teh uber".

One of the problems on my server are what i call "loot whore" ws's, these are the smiths of someone who looted a +25 experimentation or something like that, and suddenly takes up ws. Now im 11 points, there are a bunch of 12 points on my server i cna outcraft due to better resources, and tehre are a bunch of 12 points that outcraft me.

Excellent point! Having separate damage and speed lines may indeed make having any extra points more valuable. We'll have to wait and see.

I have been a 12pter for over 18 months now and wouldn't have it any other way. As i have all the best resources ever to spawn my 2 extra pts make my weapons a cut above a 10pters

Maybe this is over-sumarizing, but...
If you only look at damage, then the original post is correct: A 10pt WS with great resources (and luck) can make weapons as good as a 12pt WS. But, that is a very narrow view. As has already been pointed out, the two extra points allow you to recover from crafting errors easier--that saves you resources in the long run--as well as allowing you to experiment on other stats.
Damage does not an uber weapon make. Other stats are important too. For instance, a 12pt WS can make better VKs than a 10pt WS since TKAs want good damage and low HAM. An uber weapon with even better condition is what? Uber-er? (What an awful word)
And one other point: How often has a slice either made or broke a weapon?
Just make the best weapons you can and go from there.

Now hold one a sec...
I was one of the first 12pt smiths on my server. I went for 12pts even before the ole elite smiths did. I did this for onlyone reason. To craft the best weapons I can. I do not advertize the extra points nor the FS crafting I now have. In fact my title has never changed from Surveyor. I have been known to sit and craft weapon stocks for hours until I create the one schema I really like. I do think that my weapons are better than many and I have a very loyal customer base. I have this because of my commitment to my craft. I was not a hunter who decided I can make my own weapons and just bought my way in, I earned every resource.
So you think that your 409 damage T21 is just as good as mine? I spent hours perfecting my Super Sniper model. It has IR +51. My rifle barrels are 16-16 IR +16. I have 4 different types of weapon stocks that I mainly use based on need. I have 3 different models of scopes that range from +19 (ham cost 2) to +42 (ham cost 15).... do not discredit my hard work. The prices on skill tapes have fallen radically and I hope more smiths have the opportunity to gain the extra points. I have no interest in selling my weapons to all of Ahazi, but I will continue to create the best I can.

Nice barrels, I seem to remember mine only hitting 12/12 with server best resources. I use +42 15/15/14 ham scopes, or +15 0ham myself. I'm waiting on approval to become a citizen of a research city to make a bunch of stocks.
In essence. All being equal 12 > 10.

dang... my mind is fried from lack of sleep... my rifle barrels are 12-12 IR+19 and my blaster barrels are 16-16 IR+16

ATTN: It has been confirmed that 12 pt weaponsmiths will have an amazing advantage over 10 ptrs post CU, they are removing the durability line, and making speed seperate from damage. Your weapons will be obviously flawed compared to any 12 pt smith. Enjoy making weapons while you can now. I would say make your power handler schematics while you can, because with any luck they will still be useable post publish.

Fact is, with any crafted item, 12 points make a small difference. Not enough to over the usual cost with buying the ca's. But if you loot them and get to 12 points, then you have truly exceeded.
Concentrate on the resources
