I waited 3 months for a spawn of Ryll Amorphous Gemstone (know your resources too). It was almost 5 months to find Green Diamond Crystalline Gemstone, and longer for Bryothsis...see where this is going?
If you want to make the weapons that now require advanced components, you'll stick with it. If not, specialize in low level ranged or melee weapons. There is nothing wrong with the CU crafting. It's just different.
