Thread: Yellow Cubes+Solidfying Agent vs. Looted Sword Cores vs. White Cubes
Ah I get it now, I didn't realise that you had to make a manufacturing schematic for the scythe aswell before you could make 2, I thought when people had said 5 cubes/agents = 2 scythes they meant per single use of the schematics two uses.
I was thinking of a 3/1 split with the WS, I consider 2/2 when I'm providing all the schematics and most of the ingredients is a bit high personally, I know how much a good scythe can sell for so the WS is making more then enough money (if they want to sell it) and they get the chance to experiment making some of the newer ingame weapons.
I'm tempted to grind WS myself as this is what interests me, the different results/ingredients/etc., but that would mean losing all of Doctor (Swordsman is too much fun) and given the current buying frenzy for Avian meat (200cpu) on Eclipse I have a feeling I'm going to appreciate being able to buff myself a whole lot more very soon
Hi all this is my first post to this message board and i just wanted to chime in on a comment made about whats fair and whats not with the reguards to the schematics and loot items from the LAB.
For one I am a MWS on intrepid and I also do a 50/50 trade for all special schematic weapons. When you look at what the MWS had to do to get to the point of being able to make weapons at that level its hard to dispute the fairness of splitting things down the middle. And when you look at the resources they will be using, you are only providing a small amount that is comparatively much easier to get. I mean I use resources that have been extinct for months and would easily run 100 to 200 cpu if you could even find them. Compared to the WP that shows you where the LAB is located. As for the "chance to experiment making some of the newer in game weapons"; if it doesn’t go into my pocket then what is the benefit for me that I make you an uber weapon. Unless everyone else can see the crafters name on it a mile away it's not something that is going to benefit me on a day to day basis; unlike the benefits you receive every time you use it. If you ask me, after thinking about this a bit harder, i would think the 3/1 should sway towards the crafter that made them. After all if not for them you would have a backpack of useless items.
Think about it.
Right and what about the time and investment I have made in order to be able tokill Geonosians? My 80% kinetic composite, my power hammer, the XP, the buffs, etc...? The cost of the resources is neglible compared to the value of the schematic and high quality looted components, you only need 60 Carbonite Steel and 30 Phrik Aluminumfor the scythe so even at 200cpu that is only 18k that the WS is out of pocketin exchange for a scythe that can be auctioned off for at least 5 times that and very likely a great deal more.
If I can only find smiths willing to make me a scythe if they get 2 of them, when the only thing they are supplying is the time, skills, metalsand tools of the trade, then I would rather grind MWS myself and make them.
Some people don't play this game and interact with others purelyon the basisof what's in it for them, I hope I find a WS who thinks along the same lines as me because if they all think like you then when I've finished the grind to MWSI don't think I'm going to like my peer group very much.

Err... you're a WS, you make weapons for fighters, they are the market you serve, when they introduce the Wizzo QualityAssortment for chefs then maybe you could make some bits for the Spring Surprise but until then you're pretty much stuck making weapons for fighters.
If I only had the components to make 2 scythes then yeah a 1/1 split would be fine, I was more considering giving the WS my spare schematics/cubes/agents though and letting them do with them as they please (along with a 3/1 split on the scythes).

Yes, we are and you completely misunderstood his point. His point, (and mine) is that there are incredibly few players who have any loyalty to the 'smith's they do business with. Everyone moans about greedy weaponsmiths, but you know what's funny you guys all drive us there.
I used to sell Krayt weapons for 70-100K, because I had some tissue on hand and enjoyed playing around with them. I then noticed this trend of customers who were buying my Krayt and Slice guns, using them to kill ubermob#152 than selling all the loot to the highest bidder.
You guys want quality, affordability and reliability.... unless you're selling things at which point you generally want every single credit you can milk. The reward for a top 'smith selling weapons at prices with a fractional margin is sitting there and not being able to afford the loot you want to buy.
The more loot schematics and components there are the more we're the kick-dogs of the fighter class, not because they're our customers but because they're the only supplies.

But nowhere did you say that. You were too busy calling us greedy for asking for a fair split.

I am not against a fair deal for the WS and I am most definately against the ridiculous amount of money being charged for AFK looted tapes from the borgle bat cave and similiar places but at the same time, I spent 10 hours xp'ing in the geo lab just to get what I've got at the moment (which is not enough to make 4 good quality scythes, so I'll need to go back) along with all my costs in order to be able to hunt there. I think if the smith is going to get a weapon they can easily sell for over 1 million credits (there is one on auction on the Eclipse trade forum with bids this high at the moment) then they are being a bit greedy if they refuse unless they get at least 2 of the4 scythes (obviously if only two were made then I'd give the smith one of them).
That's what's nutty about the economy. The idiot who paid 1M for a scythe probably got the money afk-looting SEA's. And the scythe schematic isn't that hard to get. Yes, you can only get 2-4 scythes per schematic, but theoretically nearly everyone can get 2 schematics by resetting the Tatooine quests and you don't even have to fight the Dragon.Good geonosian loot is a little harder to get, but not that hard. Personally, I hit up a few of my regular customers to run the quests and either pay them or trade weapons and armor for the schematics. The non-swordsmen get some decent cash or goods, I get a schematic and sell the 2-4 scythes for a few credits, and everybody's happy.
Come to think of it, I think I'll stop by the borgle bat cave and see who's afk, then ban them from my shop. I don't think I want their money.
