I really empathize with you.

Inventory issues are the single biggest problem with the game today. Fixing these problems should supercede any other priorities the dev team has. If and when I quit this game, it will be largely due to the complete uncertainty that your items will be there from one day to the next.

To illustrate, I'll point out three of the scores of item "poofs" I've experienced:

1. Several months ago, I had a probot out at a camp I had made. It suddenly "poofed". "No big deal", I thought, since this happened with pets all the time. The usual remedy is to simply call it again from the datapad. This time, however, the droid had vanished from the datapad. I was hoping the following morning's server reload would restore the droid. No such luck. It was gone for good. I filed a bug report and created a CSR ticket and got the usual canned response, "We cannot verify the existence of that item..." In retrospect, it was a waste of time submitting the CSR ticket, since they were as unhelpful as I've come to expect.

2. I've been leaving items in my vendor stockroom for an extended period since I began playing the game. The fact that they'll eventually go "poof" is not widely publicized and I wasn't aware of it until just last week. In any event, I've probably lost tons of items, but only became aware of it this time because some items I had auctioned off on these very forums had disappeared. Now I have to explain to the winner that they won't be receiving their goods. At least now I can try to avoid leaving items in my stockroom, but I'm still unclear on the terms of "poof". Is it 24 hours in the stockroom? 48 hours? One week?

3. This past weekend, I purchased several items at the bazaar. Not realizing that my inventory was nearly full, I highlighted all of the items and clicked retrieve. I then looked in my inventory and noticed that it was at 60/60 and several of the items I purchased were not there. "No big deal", I thought once again. (When will I learn?) I checked the bazaar and the items were no longer available for retrieval. I'm assuming they were retrieved from the bazaar, but not having space in my inventory, they went "poof". Again, I submitted a CSR ticket and a bug report. The CSR responded with a *very* helpful "In the future, make sure you have enough space in your inventory to accommodate the items you're trying to retrieve." It doesn't look like these items will be returned to me either.

Bottom line, this game hasn't been in beta for a long time. There's no excuse for this type of inventory instability. I hate having to take screenshots of my valuables just to have some proof of ownership in the event that they go "poof". This problem is quite pervasive, extremely discouraging and makes me wonder why I even play this game. Especially since customer service can't be bothered to provide anything but a canned response in most situations.

Let's get the word out there, if for no other reason than to alert people to some of the inventory pitfalls they're likely to experience. And maybe, just maybe, they'll actually fix these bugs. (Told you I'm a slow learner....)

Hmm, as I think on it a long while back I had two identical laser carbines (same serial #)that didn't sell and got put in the stockroom at the same time. The first one I retrieved fine, the second one was deleted as a duplicate item (invalid item). Also, sometimes when something is deleted just prior to a server reset, it comes back and you can appear to use it, but it gets deleted by the vendor if it is placed on it. This I noticed during the massive nightly crashes of Bria 2 months ago. It hard to keep track of what you have and what you deleted when the server crashes every few minutes. Don't know if the info willhelp.

As to the shuttle issue, it always says you lose the container you were viewing when shuttling or logging off. Not sure why, but usually nothing gets deleted - moved around in the inventory (which is unsettling to me) but not deleted.

Also, on CSR issues. I have had far greater luck when I call them or use the web tool as opposed to the in-game holocron button. They seem to take more notice when actually talking to you asopposed to answering an e-mail. You can also ask for a supervisor and continue up the food chain for awhile. If you cost them enough real-world money, they might decide that giving you some sort ofgame compensationwill be cheaper in the long run.

Hope this helps and good luck!

that's why i'm so damn paranoid and i only keep important items in the bank and in my inventory, i hear too many of these sad and unfortunate situations with storage...
