You'd probably get more responses in core systems forum, plus you'd get feedback from non-weaponsmiths.

With the impending combat patch comeing and the jedi patch already near thought I would pull this out of the attic so people might discuss it again. With all the talk about unserialized loot this subject once again shows merit. Comeon guys lets hash at a non angry post for a little while.

AGREE.. System is not the way I would like to see it at present. I don't want to be a Weapon Make Monkey, but alsohate to make any large money off a looted schematic since I did nothing but make the durn thing. Reason I avoid the Special Editions unless customers apprach me with the goodies.
a Fair Weapon for a Fair Price.
That is a hard motto to keep if you are trying to sell $50k, $100k, or higher$$ weapons, heh heh. There is no reasonable way for the WS to make money from them unless you are Guilded or enjoy shafting folks out of their hard work.

I thought all the people that complained about the unserialed loots and the weapons repair nerf would see the advantages of this. The best part is that the system would be a money sink, and throw dirt on the looter economy. Makeing it so that what you loot you got to keep. The devs have always talked about trying to keep the items in the game low. Well less looted components floating around for one thing. Heck this is good even for the weaponsmith storage issue. You need not have 20 un opened schematics laying around.
