Thread: worth it to start a WS career in an old server ?
I spent about 3 and half months grinding through MWS. I built some weapons along the way so I could learn something about actually making weapons (you'd be surprised athowmany WS grind to master in a few days, then have no clue how make weapons). I also spent that time harvesting and stockpiling the resources I would need. When I finally hit master, I was ready to rock-n-roll. I decided to specialize in pistols, and thanks to all my prep work my pistols were as good, even better, than pistols put out by established smiths (well, at least in terms of damage/speed). I've since gradually expanded into other types of weapons as my interests change, though pistols are still my bread-and-butter.
As for established smiths, don't worry too much about them. The 12-points is nice to have (especially if making a lot of custom enhanced weapons), but not vital (for the record I'm only a 10 point smith). And smiths quit the game all the time. On Corbantis a while back most of the established smiths either left the game, changed professions or started chasing the holo. This opened up the field and now a lot of new WS are making a name for themselves. Eventually those smiths will quit as well, and new ones will step up and take their place.
