After the CU yes, since there is a cap any smith will hit the cap with mediocre resources and a mediocre slice.
This is only for balancing purposes on the TC and doesnt reflect the final state.
it better be balanced real soon... here is the irony. Lesser weapons will slice better, but if you dont have 12 points and decent resources your better weapons wont hit max DPS. Also you all better figure out what max DPS is going to be for each weapon if this goes live... if you go over stats are adjusted.

While I wouldn't necessarily recommend this strategy right now, I made myself a very nice bankroll by specializing. In my case, I focused entirely on grenades (which are pre-CU FS grind popular) and made sure I ALWAYS had crates of every kindin stock. With my bankroll, I was able to invest in some nicer resources so when grenades are nerfed, I can go back to making all kinds of weapons (and I've established a customer base).

Keeping it simple is what it looks like. It appears anyone with some ambition can be a weaponsmith. My alt is a 10 point WookieeMWS and does quite well casually mining and making a limited run of weapons. Is the money flowing in? No. Is there credit to be made? Yes. Is he making it? Yep. And I get uber weapons for free because of it. I look at 2 things. Fun and maintaining my interest. To be truthful I get perturbde crafting stuff. But when I make my factory runs I go all the way. Eventually product gets sold over time. I rarely buy any resources and I have more that I can use. The trick to weaponsmithin is getting it and then get another toon to do combat work. Then you have a constant customer who uses your stuff...YOU!!!

Have you compiled a list of the stat caps for each weapon?

what he said.
Having better reasources will still be of use since hitting the caps without a slice means not getting discovered on factional scans.
