Thread: Why don't these sell???

Bazaar auctions are capped because bazaar prices didn't used to be capped at all through most of Beta, if I remember correctly. When the bazaar instant sales caps took effect to encourage players to visit merchant vendors, the devs didn't stop to think about auctions on the bazaar being capped at such a low rate. Very little attention has been paid to the bazaar by the devs, imho. I wouldn't call it bugged necessarily, I would just call the auctioning portion of it useless.

But, uh, Oar... You might want to take a deep breath... step away from the computer.... take a walk. You seem like you're getting a bit too worked up over someone disagreeing with your opinion. As an impartial observer, I don't see that Chong insulted you in any way.

My god, this is like going back to elementary school. Payingcustomer: you've got a whole forum full of people trying to help you out, and your only responses are rude, snyde, and sarcastic. "Should I? You really think?Or are you just cheering me up. Thnx foryour support." **edit** is that? The problem is not with the bazaar, or crafting, or nerfs, or the old lady down the street who smells like mothballs and has too many cats. You're looking at two issues here: attitude and ignorance. Allow me to expand.

Attitude) Your ego has swelled to some unmeasurable proportion and convinced you that just because your items don't sell, that they're worthless and need to be fixed by the devs. "Are you reading me moderators, Sony, anyone... craftables that don't sell, don't make people happy." Craftables do sell, just not your craftables apparently. If other weaponsmiths in the game are able to sell these things, and you're not, then the problem is not the product, is the seller. Also, you're wanting results based solely on principle, without having to do the work. "I don't believe in adding descriptions, the name Klik Glop should be self explanatory." So basically what you're trying to say is: I want my items to sell, but I don't want to go the extra mile. If someone goes on the bazaar and sees two nearly identical grenades. Let's say one posted by you with no description, and another posted by me that says

"Another great offer by Shint'e Commando Division! Are you looking to rack up combat XP quickly? Tired of going through crates and crates of subpar grenades with standard results? Well, whether you're a holo grinder, or a serious commando: we have the grenades for you. All of our grenades are Kliknik enhanced and experimented to the highest stats. Remember: if it's not a Shint'e, don't waste your pay"

Now which one do you think they're going to buy? The purpose of a description is not to tell people WHAT a grenade is. That's condescending and will LOSE you potential customers. The description is your advertisement. It's a place to tell what sets you apart from other weaponsmiths, and begins your name branding. If you don't want to use it: that's fine, but the people who do will see the results.

Ignorance) You're making no effort to learn about your market or your medium. You're absolutely right: commandos do typically have a decent amount of credits. So what the hell would any Commando with 5 million creds in his bank account be doing surfing the bazaar for grenades? Any Commando that doesn't already have a personal relationship witha weaponsmith, is going to pull up the planetary vendor list and visit a weapons vendor there. Even if he/she were to visit the bazaar for whatever reason, why the hell would they buy one single stack of grenades for 3000, when they can buy a crate for 20k? Money may be no object to a commando, but convenience is. Why would they want to fill up their inventory with 10 single stacks of grenades, when they could have three crates worth of them? It's less space, less hassle, and less trips back to market to buy more.

This is the problem with grinding quickly through Weaponsmith. Great: you've got all the skills, and you can make anything you want, but no one's going to buy it because you haven't learned diddle about your market. Like many of the weaponsmiths out there, your problem is not your product; it's your marketing. And for the record: you did get gyped on those kliknik glands. A customer doesn't care if you got shafted on resources and now have to raise the price of your product, they'll find someone else llike Padawan whose resources are cheaper and therefor his prices are cheaper. This does not make Padawan a better weaponsmith, neccesarily, but it does make him a smarter weaponsmith. And that's why he will sell his grenades, and you will not.

So there you go: it's not a bug, it's not the devs, it's not the bazaar, it's the item, it's not the customer: it's you. So if you want things to change: you need to start with yourself.

Chong wronged me. He put his prose in with mine and colored ityellow the color of a certain bodily fluid. It disturbs meso I said so. Wasn't any of your business anyway. Stay on topic.

Kielker wrote:

I'll call it whatever I please, thank you very much. Something useless is a bug. Just like hisyellow text, bugs me. This is my grievance, I'll call it whatever I want, until a Moderator makes me stop. Anyway, why are you sticking up for SOE?

Kielker wrote:

Kielker likespurchasing software that's useless, I think.

Whatrock did you crawl out from under Kielker? Didn't they just nerf item colorings and reorganizesubtopicsto make the bazaarsomething a little lesslaggy? Didn't they just add multiselection to grab a boatload of under 3k crap? Lastly, this isn't about bazaars, but vendors, and that's close enough for me, didn't they just reimburse lotsa lostitems, in a satchel that in most cases made it impossible totravel, w/o deleting the said reimbursements first or trading them to a stranger, who in most cases walked off with your reimbursements. Did they not do these things?

It's fun to tell people to go away, isn't Kielker?Makes you, personally sound, much more stabler and more resolved aboutthe points you bring up. But in all honesty, I'lltake a break when I get sick of people like you harkening back to beta when these things all should have been fixed.I think Kielker needs to go back to beta, since you mention it, and do the job you neglected to do right then.

First person to debunk my product said I can't sell em in crates, second said I charged Commando's too much(2k.. ha!), this now from the third, its because things in beta were overlooked.

Ya know I remember Klik glands in beta, don't you, Kielker?

Come on man, lets agree to disagree about somethings, but here, under this thread, for all the Sony and LucasArts staff to see, lets agree that crafting somethings meant to be hot or unique sellersare just not worth the minimal 20c bazaar fee. And who's fault is it? We all know who's fault it is. Am I gonna waste precious game time replying to anymore posts in this thread. Nope, I said my peace.

I've ignored everythingShinte said exceptthis sincehe took the lords name in vain inhis first sentence. That offended me.

**edit** right I thought that. Ya know now that I look back on my purchases, it was a Commando who sold me the klik's for 3k/ea to begin with. So am I such a bad crafter/merchant for selling them back to him for 2.1k? Why won't they buy em tho??? I blew a whole chunk of play time making these stupid tennis balls, and what do I get.. Not even 1 sale. Not one!!!

The commando was probably snickering to himself all the time, too. There is nothing wrong with your pricing on them based on what you paid for the ingredients, no. But the thing is - you got ripped off by the commando on those glands, plain and simple. He knew he wouldn't pay 3k for a single stack of glops.

So who is it you are anrgy with? Commando type folks who aren't buying your grenades? Yourself, for making a mistake in trying to market these things? Or just everyone in general? With all due respect you should take a step down and stop attacking everyone who posts here - especially since in the beginning folks were just trying to lend a hand.

Take the lesson learned, and build a bridge. Never bother with klicknick glands. End of story! Same deal with basic rancor teeth.

Your question : Why won't these sell?

Basic answer : No one wants them.

I'm gonna try and bow out of this thread gracefully, so please don't sneak in a engrossing post.

I'd like to apologize now to anyone who took offense at my commentary. It was meant to insight and inspire.

Some of you may have guessed it.Crafting is what I do 100% of the time and its about all that is fun to the lowbaud/lowsystem requirementplayer.

I sure enjoyed blowing mystock of OQ 980 steel on these useless Klik Glops, I'm sure you will too.

First off: I took YOUR lord's name in vain, I didn't take THE lord's name in vain, because there is no THE lord. There you go again with that egotism. Feeling like the whole world revolves around you and your insignificant and archaic belief structure.

Second: Ignoring me does not change the fact that I am right. It simply shows the world that you have no intelligent response to valid arguments. All of the whining, kicking, screaming, and flaming in the world isn't going to change the fact that you are a poor weaponsmith. Maybe I'm being judgemental, but I don't care. No matter how you look at it: you're making a crappy product that's overpriced. Loot-enhanced dog$hit is still dog$hit. The fact that you got ripped off and are now trying to pass those costs on to the customer, just reinforces the fact that you're an irresponsible, shoddy weaponsmith. You're no different than the idiot medic selling hundreds of low-quality Stim As, or the artisan selling 100 units of grind-quality steel for 3k. You're flooding the bazaar with useless crap that no one wants to buy. You put zero effort into making a quality product that's useful, and now: rather than cut your losses, you're just whining about it. Boo-hoo, poor you. You're going to get out of your products exactly what you put into them. If you want to play with the big boys, and if you want to make money off what you do: then you need to settle down, tone down the 'tude, listen to the advice that people are giving you, and open up to criticism. There's nothing worse than someone who thinks they're right all the time, especially when they're so terribly wrong. You come onto this board and post a message about a problem you're having, but the minute someone opens their mouth to help: you just start flaming away. It's pointless, it's annoying, and above all: it's juvenile.

If there's any justice in this world: whichever relative bought you that game-time card for christmas will be struck in the head by a frozen piece of excrement falling from a passing plane. You need to be sterilized so that when you grow up and start getting hair in funny places, you can not infect the world with your blatant hostility, arrogance, and general stupidity.
