Thread: What is most time comsuming about being a weaponsmith?

When I made my Resource Inventory DB I allowed for extra columns, even tho I had no use for it at the time. Turned out to be a grand idea since I list the specific Thing that mineral or whatever is used in, quaintity needed and Stat looked for. Printed, it stacks out to 8 pages of over 90 Things, but keeps me sane.

This does several things. It allows me to immediately see if a new spawn is worth chasing and also tells me if I have enough supplies to last. If I am looking at 6 units of materials and still have 6K or more, then I can be choosy. On the other hand, if I am looking at say, Reactive Gas for Med WarHeads ( a x30 item) then 6K is kind of a short batch (200 or less items) . So I know that when a new spawn comes that is better than current stocks, I need to claim over 30K before closing off the miners.
Hope that made sense. BTW, the biggest. by far. rating for weapons is Conductivity+ Overall and I have since made a column just for that. This takes care of the STEEL options that are not actually specific as to type. A quick scan down the list shows Omniahivaharis as the obvious choice. Works for me and validates what I tell all the up and coming WS I bump into.

I think what some of us are looking for is the ability to see what kind of steel, copper, etc...it is without clicking on it...so instead of it being listed at just "Copper", it would be listed as "Polysteel Copper" or "Copper, Polysteel". I have to admit...while I do have my stuff stored on my wall of resources (I have backpacks for each resource type), once I open them....I still have to try to figure out which lot is the steel, copper, etc...that I am looking for.
Handcrafting special request weapons definately takes the most time. Then again there is also glad handing perspective buyers and self promotion.
Never wait on factories its too painful. Plug a schematic before you get off for the night. With speeders now surveying out a resource dosent take too awful much time.
