the ONLY thing you should use something with that speed mod on is a flamethrower, a heavy acid rifle, or an LLC. these are the only lasting weps where the weapon holder doesn't cap their speed. anything else would be no different than using -.3 speed tissue...
Well, we hear you, and certainly that's a consideration, but a lot of us are concerned that the cost of the tissues, placed in a single weapon, make that weapon simply not cost effective.
At least on Tempest, prices for tissue have gone simply nuts, with all sorts of newbie wannabe's paying insane prices for loot items - where all these credits are coming from I have no clue. The problem is, once one gets done paying for the tissue, to craft a weapon that sells for a profit becomes difficult. As already noted, the flamethrower would be a neat display item, and certainly might sell, but its marketability is "iffy". Also, one would have to be insane to actually use that weapon, but some of these newbies might just be dumb enough to do so. Just imagine the cost per shot in hundreds of credits... ![]()
The marketability of krayt-enhanced rifles, carbines and commando items has always been problematic, and with recent price gyrations even more so. I agree with you that the weaponsmith doesn't get the same "oomph" using them in pistols, and one surely has to be mindful of speed caps, but that doesn't change the problems already noted in the thread...
