Thread: whats a big accomplishment for a MWS

I have two definitions currently:

1. Handing one of my advanced component DLT20 rifles to a newb who was trying to whack corellian butterflies with some horrible CDEF he got off the bazaar at a ludicrous price. Giving him a quick rundown on why range is important, and then watch him single-shot kill everything around him to shouts of "woohoo" "this rocks" etc. Gave me a really warm fuzzy feeling. I really helped that guy get a real kick out of the game which just before was really frustrating him, and from looking at him he had hardly been on the game a few hours.

(the best bit was that about 5 minutes later I see him run over a hill shouting "HEEEELP!"being chased by a sharnaff that quickly incapped him. Ran over and healed him and told him to be careful with the larger creatures, look at what they con like. His answer? "I just thought I could kill _anything_ with this gun considering how great it is!" Really made me smile.

2. The second definition came in e-mail form last night. Paraphrasing: "Hi, just found out my next holo is BH, therefore can I have:" and then he preceeded to list 1-3 of every single decent gun in the game that a BH would use, if factoring in starting from Novice marksman (i.e. DLT20, DH17, Scouts, etc.), and several of the BH-specific guns, and about 1000 powerups to go with them. The thing that got me is the assumption that I am now _the_ ws this person thinks of when he gets a request. Considering I have been master for almost exactly a month, this makes me think I am doing something right!

Best acomplishment I ever saw from a WS was an 800 dmg scatter and a 900 dmg FWG5.

Those don't have anything to do with weaponsmiths, they're regular weapons that were sliced 4+ times through a smuggler exploit. Same thing with the 90% resist 0 enc armor pieces.

Hum,,,depends. Some+2xx tissues were looted on my server and 2 of them were made into FWG5's. The better sliced version came out at like 740 once powered up. Now, it's no 900, but if some +300 tissues were looted, it can happen.

Not everything with crazy stats is exploited.

FWG5's dont take krayt tissues and haven't done so for quite a while now , so even if 300+ tissues appeared they would not be able to be made into an FWg5 anyway.

It was possible at one point, but there's probably less than ten legitimate 800+ damage pistols across all servers because of the incredibly low chances of getting 200+ tissue and legendary/exceptional PFM or barrels, and they're probably all either broken or hanging on someone's wall by now.

What was used in that comp bracer, legendary NS layers/segments? Those are probably just as rare as the crazy pistols, and also I doubt if there's any of those in the more important pieces (head/chest/pants) because of the larger numbers of layers/segments required. 90% resist 0 enc full suits were fairly common at the height of the multislice exploit and I wouldn't be surprised if some of them are still around because they didn't do a very good job of getting rid of them.

POKEY THE PENGUIN SIG REMOVED BY GARVA BECAUSE "Just because you are crafty enough to get around the technicality of it being a .jpg or .gif does not mean it is not an image, it is not ascii art, it is an image" SO HERE IS MY NEW SIG.

I just keep trying to find better resources and increase my wep stats. I also do little dances in hopes to get that darn Rhodium steel to have a higher conductivity. It has not helped at all yet.

Made a few weps the other day for a guy. He asked for a scatter, a LLC and an ee3 carb. I made them, not my best but they were good I think. He was so happy, loved the stats, including the range mods. What made me happy was he looked at his old ee3 and then asked why mine lookes different. Explained to him scopes and stocks. He them let me know how cool his new gun looks and was very happy. It made me feel good. I guess that is what I like to see, happy customers.

Big accomplishments for me:

Beating my previous best weapon stats: 449 max damage on a laser rifle, 409 max damage on a T21, 468 max damage power hammer,etc...

Seeing vendor sale mails with my direct competition as the purchaser of my weapons.

Repeat customers that tell me how much they like my weapons and that I "make the best" <insert type of weapon>, even if they are just blowing smoke.

Yeah if you can push a T21 over 410 or a dh17 snub over 240 max damage with stocks that is cool, probably some of the best around too.

70% elec layered > 71% kinetic layered...it's a fact.

Anytime you're making kinetic layered comp, it's probably being bought with the intention of fighting kinetic mobs. You can slash the HAM drastically by only sacrificing a few points in resists (I've seen 65 base in the 530 ham range). Only reason to jack the hams for the few extra points in base is for the potential to slice up to really high numbers, where a single point or two make a large difference. Inthat case, you're hurting the kinetic resists by putting it in special protection. Anytime I see 90% armor with 80% kinetic I wanna cry...it could've been twice as good as my 80% ubese, but now it's exactly the same but heavier.

LLK_griz..can you change that sig someday? Whatever point your trying to make to Garva I'm sure has been made, now it's just plain annoying to us who had nothing to do with pokey the penguin.

That bracer was made with 12% NS layers, 8% NS layers, a ris layer, and some -20ish shards. Nothing unobtainable toa well-off crafter, and nothing legendary, to be sure.

That was a nice day.

getting up to 21-42 handlers was a major milestone for me as after that point my ranged wpns were competing with all the big dogs on the server (WS wise) for melee wpns maybe like 43 sword cores and 41/42 reinforced cores (off the top of my head stats).

those people can buy armor with 200 less encum than your suit and resists in the mid 60s. Or wear 80% ubese.

Funny, the game isn't even a year old.

I'd say the biggest thrill was finally having the materials to push the T21 over 400 max damage.

I also enjoy hitting my personal best on a weapon or key component.

When a PA told me that I am their unofficial, 'official' weaponsmith I was exstatic. I don't try to make high volumes of weapons and my favorite orders are the personal requests. I especially like to see what I can make with parts they bring to me and I rarely ever charge them for the weapons I make from them. I know how hard it takes to get some of the items.
