One other thing to do at your level is buy components. I haunted the galaxy wide bazarre and found crates of blaster handlers and barrels far better than what I could make at that time. A lot of times you can find the HighCaliber Projectile Rifle barrels for next to nothing and they will improve a Tusken quite a bit.

As I got a better resource or gained an exp point I placed my old stock of comps on the bazarre to benefit another new smith hopefully.

Also, I contracted with a Master to buy a few crates of better advanced blaster handlers, actually I provided the materials and he made the schematic.

Another thing if you are very low level is to talk to your friends about not throwing all those "worthless" loots away. A max dam 30 power handler doesnt seem too spiffy now, but they sure helped my low level noob guns when I was starting.

Another thing I did was hand craft the stocks, scopes, muzzles in variety and marked them as such, and decorated my shop with them. I sold quite a few useless guns as fun decorations
