It likely means scopes looted after the patch will be fixed.

Ones looted before the patch would still be buggy.

Although some clarification would be nice, and if they have a TC-Serverwhatever up with this fix, somebody who has some on their char could probably test this fairly easily.

.. that is correct! After the patch, if you loot a scope, we can use it in making a weapon. The second part of the fix regarding weapons already crafted with the bad loot is a bit more complicated. The devs have indicated that a new weapon-checking routine will be put into effect. The code will check all weapons when you log for 'out-of-range' stats and correct them.

Now, what is considered 'out-of-range' and how the weapons will be 'corrected' remains to be seen. The effects could be anywhere from wonderful to frightening!

So how we supposed to tell if scopes on vendors bazaars etc were looted pre or post patch.

Good point. There probably won't be any way to tell the difference. Bring this up on Test Center or whatever, and maybe we can convince them to speed up the fix for older looted ones. Really, it shouldn't be that hard to just run a quick DB script on the broken scopes to modify them.Kinda like how they did it on crated WUKs and AUKs not being salvagable into slicing parts.

Yeah Ive been thinking this exact thing.

Also imagine having to explain this to every single costumer?

They need to somehow flag the bugged scopes, but if they can do that I gues they might aswell fix em

Better question is how can the game tell the difference between the new and old loot? Does it look different or have different stats? I claim ignorance when it comes to things like this but it does seem strange that you can have two looted stacks of scopes with identical stats and both "look" the same yet one will make a bugged weapon.

i hope so as i have heard that specials done with a blast damage weapon only do 1 damage. i haven't tried it myself to see, but that would definitely be less than useful. interestingly enough, my bh char has been hit by npc bounties for 1 point of damage on a number of occasions. i wonder if the npcs are using buggy guns, too?

...hopefully! However the devs have implied that the 2nd fix is much more involved. They have implied that the new code will be checking each weapon when u log for 'out-of-range' parameters. This implies that the code will be looking to adjust all the parameters in a weapon if found 'faulty'. It is unclear to me atm if this is going to be a one-time-corrector or if this is going to be happening every time one logs.
The thing that worries me is that we have no information as to the way this 'correction' is going to be taking place. Scary...!

I'll make a prediction now that they will royally screw up the checker code. People's legit weapons will be messed up and unrepairable somehow and "oops" sorry, no backup.

w/e they decide to do, they better do it quick, i am found with more than enough cash, a house full of uber loot and only thing left to do is have new weapons crafted, i got the loot ready waiting for them to unbug it, right now i been using a max dmg 988 LD-1.

im becomming bored and have already considered playing another game, i tried Ryl and didnt like it, but if i find a fun game before they fix all these bugs, i wont think twice about shutting down my subscription again, i only been back 2 weeks since i quit for 7 months and its the same ol crappydevelopment team

We will know only after crafting the weapon which, of course, kinda defeats the purpose. Using the old loot will result in a'bugged' weapon and will thus have to wait for the 2nd fix to correct it. Using the new loot will result in a good weapon.

I guess the only solution is to make sure your trusted suppliers personallyprovide you with loot after Publish 22. As such, no online auction on this loot class can be trusted unless specifically stating that the loot is post-Pub 22.
