Bump so everyone can see the newly edited original post.
This process was a lot harder than I thought. And to be honest, it was a lot more disheartening. You'd be surprised at the amount of applications I got where they simply listed the stats of their guns and how many experimentation points they had. There'd be applicants who thought they might not be "good enough" as a tester because their Live character didn't have 12pts yet. It made me really reflect on how chaotic the balance is between Weaponsmiths and how difficult it is to compete.
However, acouple extra skill tapes isn't a measure of your knowledge, character or competence asa volunteer in this program. And that's what I was looking for, really, a tester. Someone I can count on to consistently provide sound feedback to the developers, not someone to dominate the Sandbox Server with their uber weapons business. When I selected Ybagi, for instance, I recalled the really cool resource table he drew up several months ago. I remembered all the feedback that Biggens77 has postedin the past regarding new weapon schematicswhen I was reading his application. I still have old PMs in my inbox from Sabacc1000 providing me great Weapon Repair data. I've known SeaRaptor to be one of our oldest high-activity smiths still on this board, and so on. Whether or not these guys had over 50 million credits in their bank account didn't even factor in.
So, there you have it. Best of luck to all our volunteers and I'll hopefully be seeing you on the Sandbox.

/salute
It's an honor, Ace, and one I hope I can prove myself worthy of. I'm looking forward to it. =)

Congrats, but please do me a favor and keep in touch with the people in live. I also think we need to do some updating on what some of the current problems and concerns with weaponsmiths are. I was at the fanfest and still remember some of the Ideas that were thrown around in the craftingforums. But I fear that some of the greater ideas will get pushed to the side such as the duel weilding pistols and swords.

Frankly, this is not something for the WS correspondent to be pushing for. Perhaps the Fencer and Pistoleer correspondents, but just because we make weapons doesn't mean we're involved in every single aspect of them. I agree that our collective knowledge makes us very valuable when determining good weapon/resource stats, good loot, etc. But as far as something like duel-wielding goes, that's kind of out of our pervue.
