Thread: Looted Scope Stealth Nerf =(
just a random thought - you know that the maximum accuracy mod is +25 from any single mod type -on clothes etc.. anyone ever test if more than +25 acc on a weapon ever gave you anything extra? Or more worryingly perhaps no more than +25 weapon acc+weapon specific CA acc will give you anyhting?
eg
+14 acc on my weapon
+20 in carbine acc ca's
might cap at +25 cumulative bonus?

HMM. there is really only one way to test this and it might be a bit difficult.
1-Make 2 weapons of the same type (IE enhanced FWG5 and unenhanced). Both would have to have the same damage and most likely speed. The only difference is that one has to have the accuracy bonus while the other doesn't.
2- Use each weapon on the same mob (where possible) and record the damage done.
From my brief testing using tactical grip powerups (-49 accuracy) this mod appears to be broken. I get the same damage regardless of using it or not. Altho I can't test it using the above method, I would reckon that the accuracy would not work in a positive fashion as well. However I CAN say that equipping an accuracy bonus weapon does NOT add to any "hard" stat that can be seen.
Another thing to note is that general accuracy and weapon accuracy stack independantly of each other. It is possible to gain +25/+25 for each getting a total bonus of +50. On top of that someone could use foods or weapon stims to further enhance accuracy WITHOUT exceeding the SEA cap. Whenever you take foods or stims they add to the first number listed in the stats (gained with skill boxes) and NOT the second number (used for SEA's). For example. Let's say I have +150 general ranged accuracy and have a +25 general ranged accuracy SEA on me. My stats would be listed as +150/+175. If I then took crispic (+40 accuracy) my stats would be listed as +190/+215 instead of +150/+215. Thus it would not exceed the SEA cap. You'd also see a difference in damage dealt (even if minor).
Also, certain weapon specific specials (namely advanded aim, +240 to accuracy) work as a temporary buff that do NOT add to your accuracy mods but DOES give a very noticable damage increase.
In summary (for the time being) these insane accuracy mods you're seeing on looted scopes don't do anything. Wether or not they are fixed in the future will remain to be seen (along with the negative side of using -accuracy PUPS)..

I can verify a big change in looted scopes.
pre-22 my lowest scopes were 54 and max of 61 acc.
post-22 only scopes are 12 acc.
