I hope to god its not like RE. I can guarantee that would really destroy us people useing a high conduc. Something and a high oq something else. Jam them together and put it in the generic metal slot.

The real value is in less clutter in the game. I know I got some old resources. That arent quite useful. Until now my only choice was to sell them. Sure I can use this polymer in my wuks, but I have another problem I got seven of these not so good polymers. What I would give to cram them into a smaller size.

Sure you wont get a fantastic resource but why would you want that. A guy with one killer polysteel and fifty thousand units of pure garbage could make fifty thousand units of gold. The best way possible to get dedicated crafters to quit in mass from the game. To totally devalue their stock.

Its generally a good think. Keep players from running around with too much small bits of stuff let me give you an example. As a bh often I would check out my inventory and see eight different stacks of meat in my inventory. Well none of the meat was all that impressive. Wouldnt you know it though I just killed something, and now I cannot harvest it my inventory is full. Decision time decide not to harvest anymore or dump something out to put more in. Mind you I am not looking for specific I know I can sell meat on the bizarre for a couple credits a unit not alot, but money is money. Someone can use it.

This will generally help to reduce the bigger issue in the game. Too many items. If people are able to get rid of some of these by cramming them together that is a good thing. What does it mean for weaponsmiths. Not much accept you can cram some remainders together and make some generic item like a wuk or a powerup, or given enough time a vehicle.

Just as i read about them i thought that it would make a specific resource generic, but keep its stats. And when you used it in crafting, all those bits of generic resources would average out. But this would serve no point (just a namechange). It will most likely be averaged:

Whatever copper 1: oq985, cond 643
Whatever copper 2: oq711, cond 994

Generic copper: oq848, cd818

I seriously hope that it isn't like the best stats stick from each resource used, that would be "overpowered" tho it is only generic, but still..

From what I have herad (and it seems logical the way the databas eis arrranged) is that it will have fixed stats and name for example "Recyled non-ferrous metal"

For us WS recylers are not that useful but for those professions who can use generic resources which does not require good stats it is great. Chefs and architects will probably benefit most

Cool, thanks for the example. So basically recyclers are useless to us, except maybe for making WUKs. Do the resources convert on a one-to-one basis (i.e. if you put in a total of 100 resources, do you get 100 recycled resources out?). Thanks.
