Well one thing to remember is that the Research Center and FS Experimentation do NOT stack. FS gives +20, I'm pretty sure that Research gives +15...so those of you who sense that the remote control is under the left pillow of the couch can experiment a wee bit better
Hmmm, are you sure? It was my impression that city research bonus and FS experimentation did stack. Is there a post someone can point to that comments on this? Just curious.

I have also see and extremely high trend of this of late and to be quite honest its really hurting business. My business is primarily special custom jobs i.e. nym vks, scythes, and krayt and of late i would say 2 out of every three crafted weapons has atleast one moderate sucess. Keep in mind I follow a strict guide line in crafting of these weapons of mind buffs, the best crafting tools, and always in my home city that is a research center. I guess i pose the question as a MWS at 11.3 experimentation is this right? IMHO the answer is no i have spent far too much time and money over the past year and a half being a master weaponsmith for these types of results to all of a sudden occur in the past month or so.

The only time I've seen moderate successes on a regular basis is when I experiment on a lot of boxes at a time. The other night I was playing around with stocks and I kid you not, every single time I experimented with 6 boxes or more I got a moderate success, every single time, and I made many. If I used 5 boxes, I almost always got a "good" success (I think I got a great once). When I used 4 or less, I always got a "great".
By the way, I normally always experiment on 4 boxes at a time, just my thing.

Moderates come and go. Any night that starts out that way I put everything away and start again the next day. They are too frequent in my opinion and it will force me to do the FS skills because of it.

Not to brag, but since I've gotten my 12 points in experimentation, and +20 FS experimentation, I haven't gotten anything less than a great success (in a Research City, of course). It's a long and expensive road, but worth it imo. I believe Phase 3 will be starting soon in the village...that's the phase you unlock FS experimentation (in case you're interested).

Yeah i agree totally, i don't craft in a research center but sinse i got +20 force experimentation i havn't had a single moderate sucess in the last
3 months or so. FS is the only way to go these days.

I've been seeing an excessive amount of moderates over the past month or so. Mostly with making weapons from loot parts, I've had up to 3-4 moderates in a single experimentation line.
And one main question.
Why does a moderate success, result in the stats decreasing?
A moderate sucess wouldn't be so bad if the line being experimented on would go up 3-4% instead of acting like a failure as it does now.

I use to experiment ALL the points on weapons (not in components) after a shot of BESPIN PORT.
A normal weapon is 3 shots of that "potion". 2 For damage/speed and the other one for condition.
Absolutely NO problems at all
Cons - you expend a lot of time between weapons, but I have no moderates. Minimum result I achieve is "great success"

get force assembly and force experimentation on the crafting mastery tree of force progression. you will never see the word "moderate" again.

I have to agree with both the frequency of moderates and the effect of force crafting. The moderates had gotten so bad, I stopped doing all custom orders until I could complete at least the exp and assembly lines. But since then I haven't gotten anything less than greats.
It's sad to say, but if things don't change, anyone crafting frequently with expensive compenents simply must unlock at least force experimentation or suffer unpleasant consequences...not fun.
