I became master weaponsmith a while ago. I've actually done the grind twice. /puke

First time around I didn't have a clue. I dropped it pretty much straight away.

Second time around I waited. I spent 4 months harvesting the best resource and 30 million credits buying old spawns from vendors and the bazaar. And I still couldnt keep up with the best in the trade. Turns out I left the game and lost the lot. With inflation and my top end resources getting rarer and rarer and going up in value, I could have made a fortune.

This time, I'm thinking of extending and intensifying my resource collecting to 6 months. Only then will I start the grind to Master.

It is a fun profession to do. If you enjoy customer service and like the attentino of people you'll love it. You need to be able to take time out each day to deal with your customers and build their customer orders. There's nothing more satisfying in game than handing someone a weapon in game that's been custom made and named, then seeing their face light up with joy. (Not literally obviously)

But it is very time consuming. Money comes from your customers. You may be able to make the best weapons on the server, but that's no good if you can't merchandise and sell your wares. On top of that, you need to keep your customer base. Repeat orders are a big money maker for a lot of WS's so keep the customer happy. And one more thing. Invest in some barker droids and Merchant skills.

A business that is immune to advertising soon find's itself immune to business

Elvis has left the building.

per some of your advice i have decided, if i do this, a better template would be
Master WS
Master Smuggler(can also make money on side with slicing/spices)
Merchant 0003
Artisan 4042

sound any better?

Hey Coonsan - I've been facing the same decision as you - so good post! I've been battling doing MWS as an alt character, 1st character is a Master Bounty Hunter/Pistoleer. I've been going back and forth on whether to do MWS and MSmuggler for the slices, or MWS;MasterChef; and Merchant. Partially I'd like a little cash on the side from this character, and if I got MChef that would really help my MBH but couldn't do MSmuggler. So another question is, Is it easy to have a MSmuggler contracted to slice your weapons for you, over being one and doing it easily yourself; as well as other slicing advantages? I had a couple of MWS that I bought from on my server, and have all their weapons sliced, which to me sell the best weapons.

And for MWS and MChef template, or any other dbl. Crafter templates, is it too much work, too many resources needed, to do 2 crafting professions? Specifically if there is anyone by chance that is a MWS and MChef - any advice or thoughts on that?

I pay 5k to get my weapons sliced, I could probably find cheaper, but its not really a big deal and the smuggler is reliable so I'm happy.

Master Chef and Master Weaponsmith doesn't sound like a very good combo as the resources needed don't mesh very well.

Weaponsmith and droid engineer would be good but I can't see a DE making much money, but you would be able to make your own droids which would be great for a BH.

-Well - Goodold fashion spamming around Starports, hate me for it. I've never minded spamming, let's me know who of everybody out there is active and current on their vendors. If I do 2 crafter professions I'll get at least novice merchant, but if I go only one I'll do at least merchant 3xxx.

ok so your planis on being online 24/7 or having your toon being online 24/7 keep in mind tho, your vendors are not on the overview map either, so potientally customers driving by your shoppe wont see your vendors, and will go by

just to inform

I personally never visit a shop where the vendors are not on the overview map, cause it usually means emty vendors.(when i drive by, either by accident, or looking for something specific)

Yeah I understand you may not always be able to get everyone's attention. But I'm usually on at peak times (crafter character could spam away afk, while I run my other account at the same time - no sacrifice there), and if you show/say that you've been at work, express what good items you've got for sale, and provide a waypoint to your vendor (having a good location), I think that's just as good. Like I said, if someone's spamming around the starport, I wouldn't expect their vendors to be emtpy, unless they've sold out, which is just as goodfor them!!! But I am leaning more towards just doing 1 crafting profession I think from the advice; /commonsense, whichthen I could at least get merchant 3xxx.

ya i think spamming in starport, maybe usign barker droids, and also, word of mouth is, at least in my experience, the best sort of advertising in-game
