Thanks for all your input, the factory time is proving to be the biggest bottleneck for me at the moment. For a second there I was not sure I could put all 23 crates of each component and the resources in ONE factory to make the Proton Grenades... seeing that the output hopper is borked at 75ish when it says it can hold 100 items.

I've got 4 factories for running the rockets and all four are constantly running components. They really need to allow crates to stack to 1000....Also, they need to make factories work faster than hand crafting.. 260 seconds per item is nuts... when the same item only takes 50 seconds in the hopper when hand crafting.

Dodece - completely agree with you. I don't mine my own resources, but even buying them the highest I've paid for awesome resources was 10cpu and that's rare - average is 6cpu. If that other guy that posted is paying so much that he can charge 20-25cpu per resource in his calculation then he's getting ripped off on resources lol. I have the same mindset you do.I calculate more or less how much it costs me in resources to make, factory expenses, and a wee bit for my time and I end up with cheap prices compared to most I've seen and a decent product.

Why rip people off by charging outrageous sums? Just cause I can? Bah...Humbug I say! Anyhow, to each is own. As long as you're happy and you're making sales you must be doing something right

Sorry but I can't see any sense in this at all. Of course resources are worth thier market value, i.e. what other people are paying for them. What else would they be worth?

If I have a 6 month old resource that is the best of it's type, that people are currently paying 75 c/u for, that I mined myself 6 months ago, I'd be nothing but a fool if I then used 20 units in a gun and sold it for 100 credits. Rarity and quality are what gives a resource it's value not cost to harvest. If you find a gold nugget in a stream while fishing, are you going to sell if for the cost of your bait?

It takes a lot to stay amongst the best WS on your server. A heck of a lot more than a raw resource seller puts into his business. And even that raw resource seller will raise thier prices when they know the item has value, regardless of what it cost to harvest. If I am just going to be selling weapons at the same price, or less as you have suggested, than the resources are worth raw then what is the point?

However I do understand what you are saying about using the prices to get customers in tough market. This is a great strategy for a new and mid level smith to get thier name out there and keep themselves going till they are reach the resource gate and are on par with the top level smiths.

It's when you reach that top level and you still continue to use the basic 5-10 credit/unit price model that you will start to hurt a lot of other smiths and generally the entire market on your server. don't kid yourself about that, it will come back and bite you in the butt.

i don't like making them but i like to keep everything in stock. so i sell them for way too much. but i like it that way cos it sells from time to time, no one emails me to ask "d00d i need rockets and you're out of them" (actually they do cos they don't know how to use vendors, but that's another story), and i don't have to start the long-a$$ RL manufacturing cycle.

Ya'll use too much math. I just charge what I feel like and leave it at that. If the prices in general are lower that other smiths and under cutting every smith on the server I don't really care. I refuse to bring EQ priceing into the game. I am in the game to have fun and if somebody can have fun with some top quality weapons that I made that he/she don't have to spend endless hours grinding missions for to buy then I feel I have accomplished my goal. I have millions and am still makeing millions and have over 1500 items on my vender at all times so I am not haveing to constantly be standing at a crafting station. I am alsoMaster Pistoleer because I like to fight and explore too.

I would have to say the real problem with priceing is as follows. There are far too many mws that just use a second account to generate money. They get on dump a hundred guns on a vendor and switch over. Result there are more guns in the game then there needs to be. When a master weaponsmith charges 30 k for a llc. The majority of players see this and think wow mws makes alot of money I want that. They fast track the grind, and start crafting subpar weapons. Boom all of the sudden weaponshops are everywhere. I went to coronet the other day to shop and saw I kid you not 70 weaponshops. Most were horrid weapons, and ontop of that overpriced. Jawa ion rifle fifteen k anyone.

They really need to work over the planets with different contents. Its a shame that eighty percent of the players live on corellia or naboo. It just blows my mind. That there are this many weaponsmiths in the game, and that they can stay in business merely by overcharging and selling subpar weapons. Maybe its the fact that there is too much money in the game. When a major purchase in the game is getting to six or seven million credits there is something wrong. Maybe the missions need another shock treatment to lower the yeild. Maybe transport costs should be raised. I am not sure but with so much money out there. People literally buy guns to throw them away a day later.

I live on the ghost planet of tattooine, and my prices only give me value because there are not sixty weaponshops within a hundred meters of me. I seriously doubt inflation was supposed to be like this in the game. Credits are loseing value every day and its skyrocketing.

I really don't think this is about how high you can sell it for... it's more about keeping a full stocked vendor that doesn't have items flying off the shelf faster than you can replace it. Keeping a full vendor is a tough job.... I'm finding that I'm usually ouf of *something* everyday... soI adjust prices accordingly.

At my standard rate of 38 cpu for weapons, rocket launchers work out to 70k ea. I've sold 21 of em at that price.

I think it's fair to charge more for these. I meanwith the same minerals, you could sell10 very reasonably priced weapons for 7k each.
