Thread: Market for Grenades?
Head into a city (coronet, say for example) and have a snazzy catch line, like..."Tired of getting a measly 10 combat xp for that gigantic gubber you just killed? Turn that Pistol xp into Combat xp with a Handy Dandy C12 Frag grenade! Send me a tell now, and get a crate -that's 125 whole grenades that give you _nothing_ but combat xp!- for the low low price of (whatever you're selling them for. i sell crates 3k to the public)!"
thing about grenades is they just require more salesmanship than most guns. People know that with a gun, they point at the chuba, the gun says "bang!", and they get xp. Education of the customer is definately the key.
i've been making a tidy profit selling crates of c12s to commando and bounty hunter hopefuls, which in turn has helped to fund my rise to Master Weaponsmith...
Crates contain 25 stacks. I think it would be pretty pointless to buy single-stacks to be honest, so the only way I'd sell them is if the schematic doesn't turn out good. Then I sell them cheap just to get rid of them. Also, I have a power-up vendor right next to my munitions vendor and I sell power-ups more than 50% of the time. The hardest part is making sure they understand you need 2 1/2 crates of power-ups for 1 crate of grenades.
Also, that number showed up in the combat tab - not exactly, but that's a rough estimate. One got hit for roughly 1500 and the other got hit for 2500 - on one toss.
I regularly do 1500 or more damage on my C12 tosses even though the stats say 800 - perhaps that's 1600 spread across Health and Action - and perhaps mind. I don't look at HAM bars too often. I watch the Combat tab... I only look at the HAM bars to make sure I've got the right object targeted.
