Thread: To Guild or Not To Guild? That is the Question...

My original guild only had about a dozen active members, so it wasn't any problem to provide them with free weapons. In exchange I'd occasionally get help with mineral harvesting or they'd give me some of their weapon related components. Eventually our guild merged into a larger one that we had been allies with.

The new guild has far too many members for me to give free weapons to them. However, I do extend a 25% discount. I haven't really asked for anything in exchange, though I occasionally get schematics or components offered to by vendor by guildmates.

For me, being part of a guild brings out the social aspect of the game. If I weren't in a guild, I'd probably wouldn't know that many people in-gameand likely would have left SWGa long time ago.

I have been a part of 2 very different guilds and have been on my own also. The pros of a guild is that your customers are right there and you dont need to advertise that much and you have a personal monopoly of sorts. The con of a guild is that many people in guilds (not all) are drama kings or queens and can be a pain to deal with and you will have to deal with them alot because they will be bugging you about weapon stats and what other WS charge ect... The pros of being alone are the exact opposite of the guild. You dont havea base of people who come to you, you have to go to them unless you are a major WS who has a big rep. The pro is you dont have as many jerks comming up to you on a consistant basis. My feeling is this:a WS who is not a master should join a guildbecause it is much easier to have a small supply of credits from them. A master can choose and it depends if they find a good solid guild that wont blow up in their face. Alsoit is better for a WS to join a hunting guild then a merchant guild because you can have customers there. Be careful about giving weapons to your guild. In my last guildIhad given a ton of weapons to their armory. one guy stole them and left. keep all your weapons that have not been sold in a house where you or maybe one friendhas access to them. Being in a guild for mewas more of a headache then a blessing but thats just me. I know other WS who have guilded up and couldnt be happier.
