I equipped it but is says i dont have a cert for it. looking through the rest of the tree i dont see any certs for it there. i tried using it and it had no effect on the low level thugs i attack with it. As for who else could use it? i was thinking maybe bounty hunters or commandos but i dont see it there either.

It is a Pistoleer skill that gives you the cert. As to which one it is I have no clue becasue I have been a pistoleer since launch.

thats odd since i havent been able to find any cert for it on any combat proff...

Heh, yes, it does say where it is certed right in the /examine description. Nobody reads the flavor text though.

The "Certified: No" won't go away whether you are certed or not, by the way. The looted pistols don't have certs in the tree and work a little differently. They were put into the game the "quick and dirty" way, and development plans to give them real certs later. For now we're expected to just figure it out. I have passed it on though, a long time ago. I'm sure I will remind them again when we get to a point where I could justify it as a priority.

The issue isn't isolated to our profession, for what it's worth. It's all the weapons that were put in after launch.
