Thread: Crafters Concerend about dying!

This is really obvious and to be honest i didnt think of it straight away.

I have 3 non-combat masters - Weaponsmith, Artisan and Merchant with a47 SPleft over. I had originally put these into marksman. This made me level 10 combat, hardly worth having. Now heres the obvious thing - Use the 47 skill points in scouting - This gives 70 mask scent which lasts 7 minutes and it still makes you combat level 10 (used all 47 points ).


I strolled around a lair of level 17 which conned red and was fairly safe. I do know that mask scent can be broken but its better than having nothing.

That sound pretty good.

I was fortunate that my guild had several master merchants. We worked out a deal where they would host my vendors so that I wouldn't have to tie up my sp. It's allowed me to have decent combat skills without setting up an alt, but the downside is that I have to rely on others for my vendor updates.

You think you have it bad I am a MAS, MWS, MM with a combat level 1. I went on some harvester runs and suprisingly didnt die. I think the hard part will be locating resources and placing harvesters. Also they have those mask scent stimpacks which i will be using have'nt tried on yet but i'll let you know how it goes.

I think they need to re-adjust the skill points for crafters. I cant even check my harvesters with out an escort.

This might be considered an exploit, not really sure, but I have had my full templatecrafter group with my combat avatar when she needs to do harvester runs and that has worked out well since the crafter will assume the cl80 level on my combat avatar. Has prevented several one hit incaps.

Another combat level 1 here! I am master weaponsmith, master architect andmaster merchant with the rest in artisan. I used to be able to manage things by wearing some custom-made low encumberance composite armorthat would allow to me stand in against most things while taking care of harvesters, etc. It also helped me get out of some tight spots while surveying.


Wearing regular clothes now has made things much more of a challenge. I've had to be much more cautious when approaching my harvesters, factories, etc. And if something aggressive has spawned right outside of my front door I can usually get past them just fine! I just step outside and within a matter of seconds I am safe and sound in a nearby cloning facility!


All in all it reminds me of the days just after launch when venturing outside of a city was an extremely risky thing. And the most important ability you had was burst run! Whether or not they make any changes or accomodation for us crafters, I for one will adjust where I can and I will survive! After all.......it's a dangerous galaxy out there!

Nope, not an exploit. In fact the devs recommended doing exactly this. Or wearing a PSG. lol

I have a CL18 Combat droid (Probe)and I live on Dantooine. I try very hard to avoid creatures and sneak around but if I do get seen the droid can easily buy me enough time to get away and find a new way around. Obviously it wont help if I need to place a harvestor somewhere with surrounded by creatures but for just moving around and surveying it works perfectly

Living on dant I have about 10 voritors outside my shop, they aggroed me and killed me while I was inside my house

Ive had this happen to me a few times.
I know how tough it is being a Weaponsmith on the Dant, the best thing I can suggest is either a good combat droid or a friend to act as decoy.

o m g this happened to me, not that bad though, just a baby womp rat. but happen while crafting..had to finsihed the screens and run to grab the only weapon i had available to use, a cdef rifle no less. oi!

Try solo grouping with a CL 80, you'll be considered a CL 80 for damage purposes even if the groupee is on a different planet.
