Hi my beloved gun makers!

OK, I'm going to be asking this community to push for something that would be beneficial to both Jedi and Weaponsmiths...

Master Weaponsmiths should be able to craft color crystals for 2 very good reasons (Note: they may need to be called something else, crystals can only be tuned by Jedi):

1. A color crystal is needed in every light sabar (even for a training sabar). Right now this is a loot drop item. Some have stats, some dont. Jedi already have to loot damage crystals and pearls and we really do not desire to have to loot 2 kinds of crystals. If weaponsmiths were able to craft these items it would save us some time and irratation.

2. This one is for you guys: In the very near future (if it hasnt happened already) you guys are going to see your business level drop. Many of the top players (which happen also to be the top payers) are going to be using light sabars as there main weapon. A weapon that you guys have been completely left out of. If you were able to craft the color componants that have stats just like any other weapon (better resources= better stats) you would be let back into this market.

This just makes sense to me. It solves one immediate problem and prevents another from happening in the near future. Push for this, make some ruckus, cry like bounty hunters, do whatever it takes!

You are an idiot, look at your post you put on the jedi forums, not many want this. Where do you get this fits with continuity at all? Jedi are big spenders? LMAO yeh we are forced too. Ever think how we get the dough to be big spenders? We are the weaponsmiths and armorsmiths and other top crafters in the game or the uber loot drop people for the most part. Adding a component to weaponsmith's for lightsabers is retarded as many jedi have weaponsmiths as their alts. Now what exactly is the deal with thinking weaponsmith's money is gonna run dry because there are gonna be jedi in game? Really if it gets to the point where it's hurting their pocket books then sadly the game is done, as there will be way too many jedi. Come on use your head a little.

this is a terrible idea. i am a once and future weaponsmith (probably the first week of july i will be one again) who believes some of our income needs to be diverted to other classes, as well as the armoursmiths. too much cash ALREADY flows through just two professions. after the jedi revamp, it will be trhee classes, since after the combat nerf.. err.. revamp, the only good looting profession will be jedi.

i think since sliced weapons are illegal, they shouldn't be allowed on vendors. this would push the slicing gig only to smugglers, since why stay WS/Smug if the only way you can sell them is from your backpack? same thing goes for sliced armour, though many AS don't currently slice their own stuff anyway. this will also decrease the number of smugglers in the game, making it a more underground profession, until they get overpowered by the revamp (c'mon, you KNOW it is going to happen...).

Beerme, I suggest you beer yourself and use yourhead a little. If its continuity you want, go play KOTOR. I'm a Jedi and I'm not a weaponsmith or an armorsmith nor do I desire to become one. It's playersthat "dabble" into crafting that help ruin continuity and the crafting system.

Maybe if I spelled it out more you would understand. If I'm out leveling Jedi, my main charactor is sitting in his house not using his beloved rifle. Rifles don't decay from sitting, they decay from use. If I'm not using my rifle, I won't need to buy another one. Hence, and I really hope you are following me, weaponsmiths won't get any business from me. That is bad, maybe not for you, but for them. Now multiply that by however many Jedi are going to be out there leveling the very long grind and you have a major hit to weaponsmith business.

In the future, there will be too many Jedi, it's going to happen.

I have always liked the idea of sliced weapons not being accessible through venders.

I'm not a WS but I can't help myself reading such rubbish. Atrus, climb down from your high horse. How many Jedi do you honestly believe there are around? 30% of the entire game population at best? So let me get this straight, as a WS you lose 30% potential customers that might be Jedi but everyone else uses weapons like candy and not just normal weapons even special made ones that cost craploads to make and replace. What you're trying to say here is that every WS should be allowed to craft a what? Crystal? Jesus you are dumb. Do you have any idea what crystals are? Do you have any hint or clue where they are usually found or how they are formed? Why don't you put a small glass in your sabre instead?

Continuity is one thing, would be nice to have but since its a game and the movies are already out its not going to be 100% right. Being dumb just because you're bored doesn't exactly rectify your request. Every player will have a lightsabre, right, again where do you get all this exactly? If YOU want sabres go play KotOR or Jedi Academy.

As a friend of mine says "Pressumption is the mother of all fvckups" so stop assuming you know the future and hold your breath, maybe you'll die and we'll be rid from another idiot who doesn't dip his tongue in his brain before speaking.

Excuse me Arhagellos, I forgot how manypeople Luke must have killed to loot another crystal or 2 to make his new sabar in ROTJ. A Light Jedi resorting to killing thousands of people just to make his sabar. There is continuity for ya.

Discernment is not pressumption. The end to the Holo grind will take away much business from all crafters. Since this will be across the board it is not as big of a deal. However, Jedi are going to become more and more frequent. BTW 30% is no where near the right number, about 5-10% of regular players are Jedi at most. However, 30% will be the number or higher in the future. Do you realize what a 30% cut in business would be like? A good WS deserves every bit of creds he makes as it takes a lot of time to be good. Maybe you have done no crafting and don't truly appreciate the strive to get good materials, the time to takes to makegood schematics and set up harvestors, factories and venders.

Yes, I know what a crystal is. I don't desire to change the way damage crystals are obtained. I find questing for them to be fun and a break from the grind. However, I dont want to have to loot 2 kinds of crystals. If they were crafted they could be called something else tohelp keep continiuity. Call them color cubes, filaments, Sabar Spectrum, whatever you want to help keep the continuity but make these things easier to obtain.

Your not a WS, are you even a Jedi? If you are neither you would think this is a bad idea as it doesn't help you in anyway. Ignorance is bliss, I bet you are a very happy guy.

I disagree that holo grinding coming to an end will take buisiness from WS or crafters. I think it will help them, you said it yourself in an earlier post its the dabblers that mess up the economy. Someone who sells everything at way bellow cost because all he is doing is trying to master a profession and doesnt care if his buisiness is a sucess, dancers who never get tipped because the coronet cantina is filled with the afk grinders, medics healing everyone for free So where are the serious crafters going to suffer? combat grinders were buying grinding weapons not hi-end krayt enhanced weaponry and you can grind your way through any combat prof using 2-5 wepons tops. I did Fencer using the same spd sliced Gaffi from the time I was certified to use it till I mastered and its still at 500 condition after a repair.

Loot crystals its worked just fine so far, and if you are a conscienciuos objector with your light jedi well than dust off your alts T-21 and get busy. (Just dont kill steel like half the riflemen in Fort Tusken)

rofl, dude, you cannot CRAFT a CRYSTAL!

a CRYSTAL is a natural formation.

The Jedi had to go to a cave and find a crystal to build their lightsaber...

Hmm, dont have much of an opinion on the matter, but I do have to point out that there are several types of 'crystals' or gems that are artificially produced in labratories. Especially your more expensive rubies and emeralds, as far as quality goes they have better specifications then the nartural ones, but they lose some of their astheticness because of their perfectnes, in my opinion. Not a totally bad idea, not sure if weaponsmith should be the one to grow these crystals, maybe a bio-engineer or something like that, but an alt source for a crystal with maybe better/worse or at least different specs that a crafter can produce. I dont know, sounds at least like an interesting idea.

If anything, Jedi should have to survey forcrystals, just like everyone else has to forresources.

Harsh responses to the orignal poster. Regardless about the idea though, business will drop. Not only will more people be jedi, the path to jedi will no longer require grinding combat professions. Those grinders needed guns, but not anymore.

Kameckobe, you are an uninformed troll. Registered 5-15-04, no wonder.

In the current Jedi system, refined crystal packs are craftable from gemstone and are the only kind of crystal needed for a training sabar. In the new system, every light sabar will require 2 refined (crafted) crystal packs in the assembly of the actual sabar. To turn the sabar on will require a looted color crystal to be placed in it as if the sabar was a container.

Crystals are craftable in this system and the one to come.

As far as crystals being surveyedfor, we have been pushing for this for a long time. It hasn't happened yet. It would solve my problem but not the one WS's will have in the future.

It is not unlikely, nor does it hurt continuity to believethat some sabar componants could be purchased from someone who has mastered making weapons.

I'm not sure I care for the idea of otherprofessions making Jedi components, simply for the fact that none of the otherprofessions have the knowledgeof how lightsabers (and their crystals) work.

Even if you ignored that, I would think Smuggler would be a betterprofession for that kind of work. Given that lightsabers are extremely illegal to own in the Empire.
