Thread: Does FS expirimentation stack with 12 point?

I know - been asked before


I searched - and couldnt find - neeewwwwbbbb i know


I just got my 20 extra expir pointer suit - yay - finally a 12 pointer


Does FS expir stack? Working on the FS expir that gives you another 20 expir - so hopefull another 2 points


anyone know?

No, FS experimentation won't give you another 2 points. However, it still helps to increase the chances of getting Amazing success on experimentation, so it is helpful. Since I've gotten my 12-point suit and FS Experimentation IV I've never had anything less than a great success in experimentation, well worth the grind IMO.

speaking of FS grind...what sort of time did it take for you to grind the Experiment Line ? and what did you grind with ?

By my calculations I could get FS Experiment in 10 hours of straight grinding.... I can cap out every 15minutes using Heavy warhead mechs and I craft in the hut next to Paemos. Doing upto 10 crafts/minute using a Logitech MX700 on auto-double click and a in-game macro that is on a very tight setting... might go grind this weekend I'm at FS experiment 1 currently and have 170k xp (FS crafting) already banked

For those of you who don't want to 1) Deal with out of game macros(technically illegal and if caught you will be banned) and 2) don't know how to use an in game macro...


Go 0004 DE. Make a bunch of parts in the factories then craft Adv BLL chasis. At 850 FS Crafting XP per compile it is THE quickest way to grind once you have all the parts made. However this way does take quite a bit more prep work since you need to make factory parts and it takes a considerable amount of resources.


BTW did I mention that OOG third party macro programs are technically illegal and you should not really post on the forums about them since your forum account is tied to your main account which your characters are on .

BLLs are a waste... dont bother. You have to make what... 18.5k control units alone just to go into the 6 manipulator arms for each one? You have to make 3125 of these just to get 2 trees? No thank you. Go the easy way, go the Heavy way, that's my advice.

Well if you have a crapload of resources lying around and 17 free factories. It was easier for me I guess. Being that the majority of the work is conducted by the factories while I am offline. So anyways yeah I would say that BLL is a bit tougher but those Heavy Warhead resource prices are a bit high too, especially since gas JUST started spawning after a 2 month hiatus on Starsider(yeah all gases except SW) and due to the Iron bug there are a billion irons in shift and not as many steels.



But anyways to each his own.

I dont know where i read or when - - but i thought if u had 12 point - u could get an extra point from the FS line - - oh well, prolly get the rest for the added happiness

I am currently working on the grind folks - -


It took about 3 days - but i figured out what the best formula for grinding (for me anyway)


I am Master Weaponsmith - - and i grind out Blaster Rifle Barrels: They give about 90 XP and they require 46 resources (2 separate resources) for me it is the easiest because it cuts down on clicking


It takes about 63k worth of steel to max WeapSmith XP at 120k -- then you can convert the 120k to 24k FS craft expir


I use a mega macro with my N52 nostromo and if you have a nostromo, you know what i mean ... it makes it MUCH easier


You can prolly do with a normal game pad as well - or a joystick


Takes about 2.5 hours to max out and convert --- i pop out ole Clamps ... my molecular clamp storage droid who also has my Weap station in him .... and i craft about 100m from village I max, fly in and convert, wash rinse and repeat...


Hope that helps - -the FS expir grind sucks But, with a good macro and plenty o resources it can be done I am getting there - i will have my 4 boxes of FS expir soon -

I spent most of a weekend to grind out all four boxes of the FS experimentation line. I used an in-game crafting macro and 8 crafting tools to grind out Heavy Warhead Mechanisms. Takes a lot of resources, many of them specific named resources, but it's the fastest way for WS to grind it, imo.

I wouldn't call it a nerf. I personally think that FS experimentation as it is now is more valuable than having 2 extra points. 2 extra points dont make any change the way exp works no (a few pt better ranged mod etc). But FS experimentation eliminates getting anything below great success.


Can compare to Besping with Bespin I would still get moderate or critical failures on experimentation.


The other FS crafting skills are not worth it though.
