Thread: Nobody wants +12 points anymore?

So I'm trying to sell my old crafting suit
no bids yet, I thought 30M was ridiculiously low and expected a buyout by now
just wondering if anyone else is seeing stuff like this on their servers?
Is this another sign that weaponsmith is going the way of the dodo ADK

Well, it hasn't been 24 hours yet so give it a bit more time. Not sure how it is on your server, but on mine I'd guess there wouldn't be too many up and coming smiths that could afford to spend that much all at once. You might consider offering seller financing to encourage bidding by those that may not have all the cash on hand, but getting that much collateral might be a challenge

When you notice what you gain with those extra 2 points as a weaponsmith you regret paying even 20 mil for a suit (1m per point), ours cost about 28m for reference
Q. Do your weapons do more damage?
A. No
Q. Do your weapons get more condition?
A. Yes, can do, but with ADK's for the uber weapons, who cares.. standard weapons is cheap so who cares..
Q. Can you decrease HAM costs to make a difference?
A. No, very few points gained, and when was the last time you took HAM into consideration when buying a weapon? (Unless you are carbineer, but there are none around anyways
Q. Can the range mods be made better to make a difference?
A. Se above answer
Q. Will it decrease my chances for critical failures?
A. Yes, but with the FS experimentation line and the recent assembly changes it won't matter, I have NEVER had anything but great successes on experimentation after getting the FS exp. regardless if I have worn the suit or not.
Q. Will I get a higher "status" in the buyers eyes?
A. For standard weapons, maybe (I wouldn't care personally). If you intende to make special weapons for customers that supply the loot you have to be 12 points, otherwise they go somewhere else.
There you have the rundown on WS experimentation clothing from what I have experienced over my 6 months as weaponsmith wich of 4 have been as a 12 point smith.

Someone tried to sell a suit on my server not to long ago and was having trouble finding a buyer also. There were a few 11 point smiths that wanted him to break it up but he woudnt.
Also there was a crazy time were lots of CA's were dropping a month or so ago. I know I scored a +17 weaponsmith assembly that someone looted off of lord nyax.

pfft...my server weapon seems to be going for the second most. Chef used to be costly, but its down to a mil a point, Ws is like 1.5, and medicine is a bit better than Weapon.

dunno about on anyone else's server, but on Gorath the tapes have gone from being rare-ish, to being extremely common. the prices have already started falling because people aren't playing as much as they were previously, so i would think the lack of interest is mostly due to 11-point smiths not needing the whole thing, and the increase in the drop rate of exp. tapes has made the market tumble.

Expermentation tapes have become much more common lately. It took me several weeks and about 30-ish million to get my weapon experimentation set, but I was able to get +17 armor experimentation in less than a week for about 20 million (and on Corbantis armor tapes used to sell for a lot more than weapon experimentation tapes).

Ahazi prices are still sky high. If i had 30mill i would buy it - but i am one of those 11.4 pt ws's who need another 6 points to max out.... its getting frustrating for me... hehe
good luck with the sale - it will sell i am sure.....one of those jedi alts.....

On shadowfire it seems we have a whole bunch of newb smiths coming through the ranks, they just arent cashed up enough yet to buy a suit. I doubt they will be either, considering the dmg that ADKs and inflated krayt tissue prices are doing to our shrinking economy on our server. Bout 1.5mil per point is standard but I agree, uber resources = more important than 12pt suit

I got about 2 mil to my name...the most I ever had was 5 mil, maybe one day I will have that much but cash doesn't come as easily as it use to.

Someone offered me a +16 weapon experimentation tape for 40 million. I was honest with them, I've never had 40 million all at one time. Even with three retail locations now, there isn't any chance of me hitting 40 million any time soon. I wouldn't want to spend all my money on one skill tape anyway.
I would be interested in being a 12pt smith if I could do so for around 4 million. I have roughly 5 times that amount, but I can't see blowing my whole fortune on skill tapes. I can't even justify spending 2 million on an AV-21 (I've been working on getting a powerplant for free...). It's something that would be nice to have, but it simply not essential to my enjoyment of SWG.

Yeah I've never understood auctioning an entire crafting suit. The rich people who could afford it probably already have suits themselves and the people who would be interested it the suit can't afford it. I suggest auctioning the pieces individually.

In the end all non-combat attachments will drop in price. The reason is that more and more are looted but very few are removed from game (combat attachemnt might get lost when items decay or failed repairs). If someone is going to leave game or drop profession they are usually given away or sold to someone else.
