Just made a Master WS/Master Merchant/Master Artisan/Pistols 4 toon on TC-ep3 to see how my crafter will be doing after the CU. Headed to Dant MO, since that's where my crafting stuff is set up on Chimaera, drove to where my house/factories would be, and was instantly incapped and corpse camped by a regular Huurton. The buffs and PSG did jack squat since the Huurton wasn't certified to use an energy weapon.

Be afraid, crafters with limited combat skill, be very afraid. All crafters living outside of a player city, pick a spot on Talus or something and make a city to place your factories and storage houses in, because you have no chance living in the wild now.

Ok, I knew Dantooine would be harsh, so I also just simulated a harv run where I'm currently mining some nice SR Polysteel on my home server, maybe 600m north of Theed (within sight of the starport).
As far as I can tell, my carcass is currently being used as decoration by the Maulers

Well before CU pistols 2 and a nice scout blaster will do nicely.
Dont know what I will do after CU though when I wont be cert for my blaster. I can do about 2-3k dmg per second with overcharge shot and I only have marksman pistols 2 and ranged support 1
scout blaster is 0.5 377 dmg tho.

Our guild's city is on Lok, so I'm moving all my factories into the city limits before the CU. It sounds like the toon I use for harvesting will need some serious combat skills too.
Have you tried grouping with a combat droid or non-CH pet to see if that makes any difference in survivability?

No, haven't tried grouping with a droid or pet.
I think i read that if you group with a high level toon, your rating goes up and it might mitigate some damage. Still I'm not looking forward to having to get into solo groups just to maintain my factories

Grouping with pets or droids will not increase your combat lvl. It may give you a few seconds to run though.
