I am wondering how many reinforcement cores are needed to make a power hammer, reason is I looted some exceptional Acklay bones a while back and had a well know weaponsmith make me a hammer, and he said I needed two for one hammer, so he made me a hammer. But on the Swordsmen forums I was told that you only need one Acklay bone per hammer.
So which is true? do I need one or two Acklay bones for one power hammer?

Only need one per hammer. He may have been charging you one as a cost for making it, or wanting a back-up in case he got some bad experimentation results.

yea it only uses one. but i usually tell my customers to give me extra for 2 reasons...1 if the first sucked i redo it...and 2. if the first is good i usually keep the 2nd for cost instead of charging. Its works good like that because your not payin an arm and a leg to make the weapon just givin up a loot drop.

First off, did he charge you for the hammer?
If he did, I think you got ripped off. Especially if he charged you more than the cost of a non-acklay hammer since the acklay hammer would use less of his resources.

No, I didn't pay, but he said nothing about keeping a set of the bones for payment for the work either, and considering the set cost me 5 mil I am really angry.

Ok, you totally got ripped off.
I'm sure there will be other smiths who come in here and say "Why shouldn't we charge one enhancer for an enhanced weapon build? Our skills are needed to make the weapon, we deserve the same pay off.", but this logic just doesn't float.
I use resources that are worth 100+ c/u each on my power hammers, and the price of the hammer covers this and then some. That price covers the value of my resources, my skills and the time I spent collecting them, just like any other weapon. The price of a regular weapon plus extra for the manual build is the only fair price for making a custom enhanced weapon. I don't care what reason you have, the enhancers are not yours and unless you are regularly charging 5 million for your resources, time and skills on all your weapons, then you are ripping people off. You see those enhancers, your eyes light up with greed and after that any old lame excuse will do.
So yep, you got ripped off big time. On top of this the smith didn't even tell you they weres going to keep a set of bones for themself. This tells me they felt in themself that they were ripping you off.

Trino, I would like to know who smoked you on that deal. I have a feeling it's from a shop on Naboo. PM if you want to divulge, because we might have something in common.

I think a SAC capped, 470-1000+ dmg, 2.8spd (before slicing) Power Hammer would qualify as well. That's my goal (I actually made a couple, but I was offered too much money to pass up for them), though a PH with a SAC of 85 and 485-1020-ish damage would be nice as well.

Are these without special additives like acklay bones?

these hammers are made with geonosian reinforcement cores created with -14 red geo cubes. This combined with very good resources and smart experimentation and you can get an 1000+ 82 sac power hammer.
