I've read that making something bleed, and hitting it with a nade will mean you just get combat xp, so long as you don't do and other damage.
Not tested it myself though...

Damage done by any Grenade type is considered combat experience. The only grenade available to non-commandoes is the C12, though (and that only if you're not a wookiee).
If you manage to kill something with grenades alone you'll get two combat experience messages (say - dwarf nuna)
You recieve 56 combat experience.
You recieve 5 combat experience.
Bleeds use the effect that any DoT (Damage over time - Bleeds and Flame) does not reduce the exprience you get from a creature while not generating any experience of it's own. You would bleed the creature down to 1 hit point, then toss a grenade to finish it off and get the whole amount as combat. That same works on 100% heat resistant creature with the flamethrower (ancient reptilian flyers and rancors come to mind).
You could also bleed something, then hit it once with your bare fists for unarmed, or a stick, or throw a rock ...
If you just add grenades into your normal combat queue while still shooting normally, the experience is split by damage - as it would be if you were switching from rifle to unarmed in the midst of combat.
You recieve 1201 rifle experience.
You recieve 604 combat experience.
You recieve 180 combat experience.

I have been making and using C22's. What is the biggest difference? I assumed c22's were better so I made them.
