Thread: Need Advice on how to sell Acklay Power Hammers

Hello fellow smiths,
I have just made my first acklay power hammers, eight of them with 201-533 damage, 5.9 speed.
I'd like to ask your advice on how to sell these best. Thing is, I want a good damage sliced one for my alt, who is a master swordsman. The rest is up for sale. But I figure a speedslice on these babies makes them pretty hard to sell, thus money down the drain.
Any advice?

Well I paid 1 million for each bone, so to break even I need to charge at least 1 mill per hammer. But that's sort of my point, if I pre-slice them all, some will be speed-sliced... are those even possible to sell for a decent amount?

Well I think this is a good lesson on not paying too much for your loot.
even with a 35% damage slice you will only get 719 max, maybe 2-3 million on my server.
anything under 700 will be less than a million and likely what you will end up with.
Looter makes multi millions selling loot, weaponsmith might breakeven if lucky with slices;
and they say that we make all the money

Yep, I think you over payed for your loot.
Although. sliced power hammers with 800+ damage on my server without powerup usually go for 6 million + credits.

Yep, I kinda figured I overpaid a bit, but what the hey. :-)
I managed to get a 32% damage slice on the third try so, I'll keep that one for my alt and try to shift the 5 unsliced ones for a million each. Got two speed slices on the first ones to they go to the bargain bin or as gifts for grinding swordsmen.
...but that only adds up to 7 you say. Didn't he say 8 bones? Can you say Critical failure on assembly. *grr*

It really depends on the speed slice, they are still good power hammers, but a crappy slice will ruin the value. But a speed slice in general isn't a bad thing, since the damage is still great, better than normal.

here is the bad news for us smiths.... if you buy a set of 11 tissues for a T-21 you more than likely will LOSE money. Same goes for many weapons including acklay enhanced. A good tissue WILL be ruined by a bad slice and an unsliced weapon will never hold the same value as a fair sliced one.

you'd never waste 11 tissues in a T21 
but i guess thats up to the smith....
but i guess thats up to the smith....my advice on the PH's....slice them all !! The 700+max dmg will go for around the 2-3mil area (depending on server). Also, you'd be surprised some of the speed sliced ones will sell for a bit (as some swordsman prefer nice speed over high dmg). As for 1mil each for the speed sliced ones, you'd be pushing it, but shove it on a vendor for that and see how they go.
What stat bone ? around the 98max area? If so I'd say you payed a little too much (again, depends on server), but for your alt I guess money is no object for you to get that perfectly sliced hammer...good luck

Just a little off topic. But I am looking at buying some bones that are 66 111. What kind of stats can I expect to see with these on a PH. And how many do I need per hammer.

On Chimeara i would expect to get 160-536 damage or there abouts. You only need 1 bone per hammer as these replace the reinforcement core.

Corbantis is crazy with swordsman and a 700 Hammer would got for at least 5 million easy. There have been Hammers selling for 10 and 20 million that were in the 800 range.
Overpriced to me, but people are now trying to raise the prices of bone because of it.
What is happening is that the swordsman are actually buying the good bones and then taking it to a msith to have them custome made. Since the Swordsman is not looking to get a profit from the bone and is just looking to get a good or great hammer regardless of the cost they are overpaying for the bone and making it so WS's are getting priced out for the msot part.
Of course everything goes in cycles and should settle back down after the fat cats get what they want and move aside.
