Hello everyone, Ive decided to become a WS to make some money and provide my guild with some good guns and I was told the best way to get through this was to craft medium and heavy warheads but I cant seem to get my tool to give me the options even if im at a crafting station. can anyone tell me if they are still in the game or what im doign wrong.

Private crafting station is needed. You will need to find a architect and buy one. Then place it in your residence.

Side note weaponsmithing is not easy and not quick cash no matter what someone tells you. It takes serious dedication, and the knowledge that for quite some time what you make will not even compare to established smiths. Good ingredients spawn rarely. So someone who has had months to collect has a distinct advantage. You will need around fifty resources, some weapons use upwards of 12 different resources. Do not go off and do this on a whim you will be disappointed.

Ontop of that you will need to run a fleet of harvesters. Maint and power them. Spend hours tracking down resources surveying. You will want to have atleast a couple of medium minerals. A good crafting station runs around 40000 good crafting tools.

You want to help your guild be another form of crafter say master doctor chef smuggler. All are a bit less intensive, and with these you still greatly help your guild.

My problem is finding the damn steel and reactive gas used to make the heavy warheads. The heavy warheads supposedly give you around 700xp a pop. Anyone know how long a certain reasource can be unavailiable to a serever?

resources can go for a very long time without being available... 6 months and more. I'm sure there might be resources that haven't spawned ever on some servers yet.

might I suggest That if you do not notice any increase in points that you log off fully for five minutes and come back. This is a known issue that happens from time to time. You are still getting the points it is just not showing. Also macros are suseptable to lag. Depending on how well your pc runs. You might Jack down your graphics and go to a empty place like yavin or rori. Though when it comes to heavy warheads macroing is not really necasary. It goes fast enough as is.

If you are useing a afk crafting macro. Do not do this. Its a bannable offense. You are really at the mercy of the csr when you do this. He might be generous and merely remove all your resources, and put you on probation. The only two afk macros the csrs will tolerate are healing macros, and sampling macros. AFK combat and crafting macros will get you in alot of trouble.

By the way the six month resource non spawn is a complete myth. Sometimes these spawns can be increadibly slick. Pop up on oneplanet at one in the morning and end two days later. So the best advice is to use a site like swgcraft. Have a list of other weaponsmiths to compare notes with, and very importantly check the planets where these resources sometimes slip through the cracks lok yavin dathomir. I have had to tell people that have told me not in six months. That they just missed a two day spawn on dathomir of the material. Sometimes its shocking about how little some people check the galaxies resources on anything approaching a regular basis.

On a side not things might get easier with the new sampling droids I hear might be comeing.

i've found that i had to sometimes be standing right on top of (inside) the private weapons crafting station in order for the schematic to appear. also make sure no part of the station is touching the wall. i moved mine back and have yet to have any problems of schematics not appearing since the /movef back 15

but yes, advice to the first poster.WS is a serious, resourcesdrivenprofession. I haveno lessthan30 different types of steel alone in myhopper and still need more! i was talking to an old school ws (been doing it since beta) she had over 750 different types of minerals to pick from.if you want to make great weapons (imsick of hearing "UBER" also) you need great minerals. After paying in excess of 25 cpu for certain resources that indeed hadnot spawned in months this fact crystalized.

i used the heavy warhead grind.. and had mastered weaponsmith in less than 10 hours of actual crafting. the thoranium steel hadnt spawned on Corbantis in months and i paid 7 cpu for that. I was lucky and the Skevon gas had just popped up a day or so earlier and was readily available on several planets. I think i paid 7 cpu for the hydron-3 gas. (which just happen to spawn last week on corbantis also)

so yeah, if you want to make a great product you need great minerals. be prepaired to pay some hefty creds. this doesnt even cover the marketing aspect of the profession.
