Thread: Steady drop off in sales recently...

Just wondering if it's me or have other WS's on other servers seen a fall off in business lately.

I've put it down to one of two things:

Either a drop in server population and in the amount of people still holo-grinding.

or more worryingly

The knock on effects of patch day weapons. Being someone who wasn't on on patch day and who also didn't have 12 points even if I had been on, my weapons now trial behind those who made the msot of that day. TBH I don't know what else to blame it on. I could lower my prices but why should I sell for no profit or in some cases a loss.

I've been considering maybe just running off all the rest of my schematics, stocking up the resources for heavy warhead mechs, and grinding smuggler. That way I could slice up all my old stuff and sell it, and hopefully by the time I'm done and back at WS again, the patch-day stuff will have filtered out somewhat.

Maybe I am just in a quiet time, but the last week I've sold maybe 10 weapons.

Anyone any thoughts on this...?

Its the time of year I would bet. It is getting nice outside plenty to do. I have noticed a decline in people online. Odds are once people get over the cabin fever they will come back with a vengeance. Remember summer is around the corner and that will ratchet up the playing.

I think its because of all the loot drops from the various new caves, everyone wants the new Scythe, Sonic Blaster, Beserker rifle, and don't feel the need to drop any money of your basic ranged/melee weapons and spend more time in the caves after something that is better...........of course I seem to recoop what I lost by assembling these new weapons...........but its not steady..........

its spring break as well for some schools so im sure theres quite a few families on vactions. business should pick up again in summer when lots are home, schools and colleges are closed and everyone is bored. and of course the thought of starship building might get some people back warming up that artisan tree and hoarding resources lol.

Certainly hasn't been any drop in demand on our server. I've seen strong sales across allthe popular weapon types. Sunday / Monday were usually the most brutal ... I usually had to work basically most of theweekend just to make sure I had stuff in stock, stuff sliced, etc, ready for the Sunday / Monday sales flood.

I haven't noticed a drop in sales on Corbantis, either. I have noticed that sales generallytend to be slower on weekends than during the week. I just chalked this up to either people going out to do stuff on the weekend instead of playing SWG, or if they are playing SWG then they're out adventuring instead of shopping. Also, the weather in So Cal has been nicer than usual for this time of year, so maybe more people are going to the beach.

See my busy time is the weekends starting on friday. On those days I seem to make 80 to 90 percent of my sales. Then again I am more geared to lowlevel players. So this is the time they seem to be on most.

There has been a marked decline in slaes on Flurry, at least on Dantooine. My vendor sales are down to 100-400K per day from 400K-1M per day.

But Bazaar sales are even worse.

My freind has a vendor in the same bldg as me and his sales have been 0 - 100K a day max, down shrply from previous levels.

I see two issues here.

Everyone wants the next big thing, which means that if you're not stocked with special loot dropped schematics you're at a severe disadvantage.

Player populations are starting to decline. I'm seeing fewer new players.

People done grinding or quitting grinding for holo's and jedi, results in less gun usage and less decay.

Could it also be an explosion in the weaponsmithing population, now that hologrinding is winding down? I know for a long time on Chimaera, we had only a couple stable weaponsmiths, now we have over 50 ( including me, once I'm done stockpiling).

A lot of people have quit recently

A lot of people have stopped trying to unlock jedi until the big jedi patch so hologrinder sales are down

It's finals time at most colleges and the students are busy

Sales should increase or at least stabilize in the next couple weeks after the students finish exams and have a lot more free time.
