Ok I know scopes will change your type.

However will the stocks without a scope?

So if I make a carbine with new stock and power cores and no new scope will my damage type change?

I head that the stocks change the type but each one used both a stock and scope that I have read.

Has anyone just tried only a stock?

If you use the looted stocks or scopes, it seems to change damage type.

yesterday I made a bunch of weapons using the same scope stack and the same stock stack

the rifles and dl44's show blast damage

the rifles are doing damage to the target

the pistols arent... either a) the scopes are bugged but the stocks fix damage

or b) only pistols have the 1 point of damage problem..

any ideas?

I can clarify what is happening.

Firstly, this is obviously bugged but let me explain the side effects:

Using either new looted stocks or scopes change the weapon damage type. Kenetic weapons go into energy. Energy weapons go into Blast.

Weapons that were Kenetic that are now energy will work fine but with energy damage.

Blast damage converted weapons will deal out damage of 1 if one loot component is used.

Blast damage converted weapons will deal out normal damage if two loot components are used.

Hence using both a Scope and Stock will enable you to have a perfectly functional weapon. The weapon will say Blast, but the damage produced will have no type.

Having just a Scope or just Stock will make a Blast damage weapon that will deal damage of 1 unless the weapon has elemental damage, in which case it will deal out elemental damage +1.

DO NOT DELETE BUGGED WEAPONS!!!

There is a patch in store that will correct dmg types on all crafted weapons. They should be converted to their appropriate type when the patch is qeued in an up and comming hotfix.

Pick me !!

Just made an Elite Carbine last night with a Cells and accidentally used a looted stock as well.
Whew! Glad to know it will work... I sh*t myself when it said BLAST damage.
