Does one species actually have a crafting benefit versus the others? Just curious to know if this actually makes a difference when crafting.

Mon cal and rodian have +assembly which does nothing. Human has +artisan experimentation which doesn't really do anything since you can max out the important stat on whatever you're making without the extra point.

Only place I personally see species matering is in bowcasters. Only Wookie master weaponsmiths can make truly good ones. Us non-wookies....well we send our buisness to the walking rugs

I'll tell you one advantage/disadvantage for species is when it comes to skill mod clothing drops and skilltape drops.

I'm a Trandoshan and cannot equip gloves or boots. Lately on our server we have been ahving several drops of gloves with +5 or more to WS Experimentation. It's a waste of time even finding these let alone paying millions for them when I can't f'ing wear them.

Same can be said of skilltapes giving +1 to WS Exp. Most socketed clothing that I can equip is 5 pieces (jacket, shirt, pants, headwrap, belt) Right now skilltapes are bugged so only one or the highest stat mod will take effect when dropped into sockets. This means that (until fixed at least) I cannot get my vital extra points for experimentation.

I'm not even gonna start about what lack of armour on hands and feet does when attacked with flamethrowers...

Dev' Eloper uses Combat Balance Reschedule on you for 6-8 months worth of damage points!
You shoot your mouth off on the forums but miss! You post constructively but it is deleted!
Ubercred It'Duper tips you Cr 27,000,000,000,000,000,000 but you evade it!
Dev' Eloper uses Publish 10 Vendor Fix on you for 55 item limit damage! Your vendors and 12 months of work have become incapacitated!
You use Cancel Account Button on Dev' Eloper for $15 p/m of damage!
Dev' Eloper tries to use JTL Expansion pack on you for $50 worth of damage on you but misses!

You use windows sys32 fdsk utility on StarWars Galaxies program files for 2.4Gb of damage! StarWars Galaxies: An Empire Developed is no more!!

That +artisan experimentation you say is worthless and capped, you are DEAD WRONG. As a human master artisan i have 11 instead of 10 experimentation points.

As far as the +assembly, not 100% sure b/c i'm not re-rolling my race to try it. But i'd say he's wrong in that aspect too.

Way to completely misread a post and then flame it with no evidence anyway.

Actually, I presume the weapon assembly DOES make a difference. Cities with research centers provide +15 to weapon assembly, and many smiths report that it brings better successes in crafting. So why wouldn't +10 for being a Mon Cal do similar things?

Research center is +15% to EXPERIMENTATION ROLLS. Manufacturing center is +10 to assembly rolls, and no one takes that one because it does nothing.

assembly == less critical failures, better chance of amazing and great successes.

It means something if you crit a lot

As a mon cal i have 110 to assembly, and i don't seem to crit fail more or less than my peers of other species.

And jennai is right, you can max out anything of value as an artisan with 10 points. the 11th is just overkill really. Now if it were 11 to weapon experimentation, it'd be a whole different story...

Wow, I've never even heard of that aspect. Game cities or Player Cities? Where is this sort of thing documented?

player cities.

You've at least heard of Increased Job Market, right? (10% , or was it 20%? bonus to all cash on mission terminals in the city)

No, this is the first I've heard of any of this (probably because I'm not a crafter and don't run missions). And I'd venture to guess that unless someone is a Mayor or hangs out in the Politician forum, a majority ofplayers don't know about it either. How would we?

I'm on these boards quite a bit and this is the first mention I've seen of these Player City perks in 7 months. I'd venture to guess that the 75% of players that never visit the SOE boards have zero chance of knowing about it.
