Thread: Which advanced components are worth it?

I am a novice weaponsmith, and am collecting some of the resources needed as I go. Since I don't have the scematics for advanced components yet, I do not know if they are much better than the regular ones.

If you could provide some guidance it would be greatly appreciated. My lots are very precious to me at this juncture and I want to make make sure I ma harvesting the right resources.

I prefer to use a scope rather than an adv. scope.

In all other cases, I use advanced components.

Adv scope is useless

Adv stock is useless but then so is the regular one

Adv blaster barrels are useless because rhodium steel is crap

Adv proj rifle barrel is useless because the Tusken rifle is the only thing that uses it

Adv projectile feed and pistol barrel are far superior to normal

Adv power handler is around double damage of normal but is .15 or so slower. I use normals in heavy weapons and adv in everything else.

Thanks Jennai. That is precisely the information I was looking for. I appreciate your help. Now if only the steel fairy could leave 100K of steel under my pillow, I would be a very happy man.

I had a question concerning this also.

What about for glop grenades? Are advanced chem disperion mechanisms alot better than regular ones for these grenades?

Thanks,

Normal and advanced chem dispersion mechanisms are both broken. Experimentation bar starts at 0 and cannot be improved (you always get amazing success but the bar remains at 0 and stats don't change). Material quality doesn't affect the stats at all, and the advanced ones have the same stats and bugs as normal.

If you can find a high shock value wood people want Laser Rifles with stocks on them (normal stocks, don't bother with advanced ones).

If wood's shock value ever went past 700 maybe I would consider using stocks

The thing with stocks is that if you put all the points into HAM, you end up with a huge speed penalty and tiny damage bonus. If you put all into damage, you get minimal speed penalty but the damage isn't worth the 10/10/10 HAM. If you split them, it's mediocre across the board and still useless.

Most people who want stocked rifles are using them for one-shot maximum damage bleed weapons. HAM doesn't matter for that, so they get advanced stocks fully experimented for damage.

advanced blaster barrels are worth it if you get some decent rhodium steel

we got a somewhat decent one and the pistols barrels went up to 15/15 and only lostlike .05 speed, sometimes you get a .1 difference, sometimes they come out the same as the others.

the rifle barrels are debatable, i think the experimentation is broken on them similar to the way it was on advanced projectile barrels for the longest time. No matter what you do on them they will only hit 11/11 and since the pistol barrels will go to 15/15 the rifle barrels should be similar using similar components, as they are with projectile.

I use the advanced power handlers, projectile components and blaster barrels (pistol and rifle). Even with marginal metals (rhodium), they are superior. I am pretty surprised at the number of posts I see telling novices not to stock up on the components because they aren't worth it. Fact is they are. Either people don't realize what they are capable of, don't work to find the good resources, or are trying to keep their own edge in making up weps.
