Thread: At what point do wookie weaponsmiths get the schematic for the bowcaster? It's not in the FAQ.

Thanks!
I'm considering starting up WS with an alt. I've been pretty much combat from the beginning of the game and became a doc to try something new. I love the crafting aspect of it and want to try a profession that is full time crafting. I figure I'll do WS since it requires zero organics which means I'll be able to pull everything from the ground and won't have to pay 2 kabillion cpu for uber resources. ![]()
Thanks again (of course I'd be a wookie WS just so I could make bowcasters!)

Someone break the news to him..
The bowcaster is why I became a wookiee WS, not formyself, but jsut the fact it's unique. All other WS"s make the same things, but a Wookiee can make a bowcaster.

As the question said. I'm just wondering out of pure curiosity when wookies get the schematic for the bowcaster.
Thanks!

GHENGIS. I wondered what happened to you
Yes I was and hope to eventually come back to it since investigation no longer takes 5 years to finish. ![]()
In the meantime I've become a pikeman/doc (former TKA/doc) and am looking for something else to do with an alt toon once this template is complete. I'm wavering between CM, BH, or WS.

That's a bit odd. I was under the impression that inorganics went for far lower than the usual 100-200 cpu for meat/hides
Am I wrong?
Either way it's the fact that I'll be able to pull 100% of my needed resources out of the ground that is pretty appealing. I know it'll be next to impossible but at least it'll be feasible. Besides I'd rather be a WS than an AS. Armorsmithing seems to be a bit too hectic since there isn't enough supply to meet demand. If there is already a glut of WS in the game then it seems like something I'll be able to at least try to get my feet wet and do in my spare time since there are already a lot of WS around. Since I'm a casual player who literally can't afford to play more than 2-3 hours a day WS may be for me (either that or droid engineer)

They're exagerating. Just buy the common resources from vendors who have no idea what they're selling and focus on harvesting the rares yourself whenever they spawn.
I often get tells like "Hey, I have this amazingly uber 998 OQcopper, I can sell it to you for 10 cpu".
Me: "What's the CD?"
Vendor: "Uhh 321"
Me: "Have a nice day"

You're right that it's not necessary for you to buy anything if you don't want. The problem is that established smiths have some very nice resources that are frighteningly old, so if you want to compete on those particular weapons, then you'll need to pay for the resources (assuming youcan even find them). What you'll see some smiths try to do therefore is "buy their way in" to WS without waiting to stockpile some decent resources on their own. It will probably take about 3-6 months for you to gather a comparable stock of resources, but in the meantime, you can very easily sell some comparable weapons to keep you going and get your business started (probably melee which require less specificsor munitions, a market that is never adequately filled).
If you want to compete soon, then you'll need to shell out the big bucks. But if you're willing to take it casually and gradually work up your business, which is what i'd recommend anyway, then all you'll need are some harvesters and time.
Good luck, and if you ever need anything (other than my resources) just give me a hollar and I'd be happy to help an aspiring smith.

if only you were not on intrepid. . . that's whey my main is and when I'm done with Pikeman with him I'm not going to do anything else.
Thanks for all the great ideas!
