I startedon October 29th, 2003 at Novice Brawler and I reached TKM this morning. I wanted to become a TKM after witnessing a TKM in action during a hunt on Dantooine. What I learned/found out along the way is:
- Having Doctor Buffs allowed me to take on much more risk than not having them. More risk usually equates to more xp, if successful.
- Being a Master Doctor helped tremendously
- Having food buffs, especially Angerian Fishak made a world of difference.
- Ingesting Angerian Fishak before hitting a lair, as long as I was frugal with my HAM allowed me to go straight through all three waves of a lair without resting in-between
- Having a method to fighting and a strategy was key to winning fights especially when confronted with multiple Red MOBS.
- As outlined in this Forum: I unequipped VK while perfoming "Debuff specials" and "Target injurySpecials."
- I would Blind, Stun, Intimidate, Dizzy, then Knockdown.
- Right after thiss I would use my most powerful attack three times, then concentrate on the weakest HAM pool.
- Then after thier HAM was down to about half, I would equip VKs and "Go to town" using berserk.
- That Lair choice depending on experience and skill level was also key.
- I started on small lairs while in Brawler on Naboo.
- Then, when I hit TKA Novice, I went to Dantooine and started on Howler Lairs.
- Then graduated to Huurton Huntress, Hurrton Stalker and finally Piket Plains Walker Lairs.
- The most xp I earned in one hour of fighting was 150k, this wasfour Piket Lairs and then there were a group of Huurton Stalkers in the area of one lair.
- I dont know how some people go to TKM from Novice Brawler in a week.
- I listened to all of the talks on armor, I found this.
- Even when my Doctor Buffs were good, getting swarmed by three high-level MOBS, would bring a 2500 health bar down quickly.
- The biggest area of concern was Mind wounds since, I couldn't heal those and Entertainers are rare on Dantooine.
- With a good Suit of Composite(sliced) for 6 hours of fighting lairs on Dantooine, I built up enough Battle Fatigue and Mind Wounds even with Composite that it was time to head back to Theed.
- So I used Composite Armor with about 50-60% resistances. It allowed me to fight longer even with the encumberances that go along with it.
- If I couldn't get Doctor Buffs but had some Medic skills, I dont think I would wear armor at all, the encumberance was too much.
- I listened to all of the advice on what skill columns to go up first and I chose:
- Balance 1
- Power 1- 4
- Balance 2-4
- Meditation 1-4
- If I was not a Master Doctor, I would have went to Power Boost first as it really is valuable for people who dont have buffs.
In the end, a lot of the advice I got on this board helped. During the last 1 million points it became somewhat tedious but hat is when I started focusing on my technique more. Instead of going in for the quick kill without considering the other MOBS around me, I was a little more watchful on how I used my HAM. The allure to TKM especially when you hit Power 3, is how much punishment you can deal. There was a time when I would just beat an animal up not consdering the HAM costs. That changed quickly.
Thanks for all of the advice.
