Thread: TKM To Use Armor Or Not, That Is The Question
Gotta admit, I'm tempted.
Let me see if I've got this right:
1. Without armor, doc-buffed TKM can use specials like UH 3 more, but can get killed quicker.
2. With 90% armor, TKM can only use maybe one special like UH 3, but is a whole lot harder to kill.
Which is best for PvE, PvP? Is there a happy medium?
For PVP I wear Adv Composite Helmet, Chest, Legs, and boots. All pieces encumberance sliced and about 68% resist except for the helmet which is sliced to 80% effectiveness. My stats are migrated so that I can put it all on without buffs.
I have pvp'd at Theed Starport with just a helmet and got multiple kills with no deaths and one incap but whatever you do don't use a blaster to draw attention to yourself. This sort of thing only works in a crowd situation. But at the very minimum you should wear a helmet to help protect against eye-shot spamming bounty hunters.
And have to use specials a lot. Usually UA2 and bodyhit and sometimes leghit. W/o DOC buffs, just food and spice, I can get through a mix of snipers, raiders, captain and warlord to a total of 5 per group with a max of 2 warlords.W/ DOC buffs, who knows.
Well I use a full suit of 60% encum sliced composite that I can wear w/o buffs. However, in PvP I always get buffs, and even with the full suit on, I can spam all I want. Perhaps this is because I always use some fisnak and muon? But the armor really helps me out, especially if I get knockdown, I barely take any damage.
Such is the case as I was fight another TKM, who also had master brawler. He would warcry, knock me down, and start wailing on me. I would just do /stand, pop on a stim, and procede to warcry him and knock him down and kill him with 3 unarmed hit 3s.
