Thread: The armor hole bug still exists. Why hasn't this been fixed yet?

Why hasn't the armor hole bug been fixed? It has been a known problem for a long time and is STILL in the game. I have been killed countless times due to taking 4 times the damage I was supposed to take at given intervals. Last night I watched it happen again while fighting crazed gurrecks. I would take 20-30 damage consistantly and then 120-130 at random intervals. Some may say this is not a huge deal and with low level creatures it isn't. Now on to the enraged rancors, where I should take from 55-70 damage per hit. When the lovely armor hole bug lands on my shoulder I take 250-280 damage per hit. I have had my health bar go from 75% full to incap in under 3 seconds due to the armor hole bug striking while I was tanking for a group. Either stop item decay or fix the bug.

I am really surprised this has not made all the combat professions top 5 as it is a serious issue that effects everybody. I was wearing a full set of 66% kinetic ubese, with a backpack (instead of the worthless bandolier). Everypart of my body is in armor. I undestand the same thing happens with all the armor sets.

Fix the bug.

This has been an issue since day 1 with the devs and has been brought up in every single patch to them in the Armorsmith Forum.

To lessen the chances of getting hit in the armor hole though, wear a ubese shirt under your armor, do NOT wear a necklace or other jewelry (seems to be one of the "holes"), get a Mk1 PSG (shields don't work, so just get a Mk1 cuz its cheap and seems to plug the gap) or a mabori belt (seems to plug up the belt hole).

Doing this seems to really lessen the chances of getting hit in the armor hole.

Its getting pretty out of hand.. I got hit for 4600 by an npc last night, wearing full 76% kinetic ubese, all 95% condition or above, and zero armor took effect. It happens EVERY time I go hunting humanoid npcs now.

Is this something you get from an armorsmith or a tailor?

happens to me all the time when fighting npcs. It is absolutely ridiculous to get one hit when you are a buffed TKA wearing 80% kinetic armor. Yet it consistantly happens when fighting force sensitives and the such.

Yeah, when i'm fighting big nightsister types, i usually get cocky because it looks like im barely taking damage.....

then BAM. a 1000 point shot straight past the armor.

Its made by armorsmiths, it doesn't offer any real protection though. It just seems to plug up the "shirt" hole.

So its a visual plug. Whats the point of mentioning it on your first post along with the Mabari Belt?

It not a visual plug - When you get the hits through the armor, what is in affect happening is that you are getting hits to the Belt-Shirt-Necklace-Backpack slots.

Wearing no necklace seems to stop getting hit in the necklacespot.
Wearing a Ubese shirt seems to stop getting hit in the shirt spot.
Wearing a PSG or Mabori belt seems to stop getting hit in the belt slot.
I think they fixed the Backpack slot.

I wear a Ubese shirt and Mk1 PSG, and it seems to really prevent getting hit in the armor hole, it may work with other things also, but I haven't tested it out with anything else yet for any length of time.
I did this and it is extremely rare for a hit to go through my Ubese, prolly I would say less than 1 in 300 hits.

Thats the link to the top 5 issues for Armorsmith (should be a sticky topic at the topof the page), the armor hole is one of the major issues.

I'd suggest that even if you aren't an armorsmith that you submit a post saying that this is a major issue also, that way, maybe the devs will put more effort into fixing this problem.
This affects ALL classes and not justArmorsmiths. It affects the fighting classes more so, since they are the ones that get killed because of this.
