Some say you are soloing reds. Some say your are getting killed.

I am a tkm i know my class very well. I was one of the first on my sever. Right now I had to change my stats to full mind and regen because the ham cost i do not care so much about hp action with medic skill.

Right now thosoloing is just not worth it. I having harder time fightings things even with max mind switching knocklers on and off. This is not how a class should be played.

Some of you saying to changes is fine. I am sorry but your wrong. The changes are far from ok. We are weaker. We are taking more dmg from all moves. Knockdown 1 was to powerful i agree. knockdown 1 should have a timer on it or something. But knockdown 2 needs to get like it uses to be.

Right now i am just pvping and using tef. I cant even killing a rebel npc without taking so much ham cost. This is crazy. For you people saying we are fine you either do not know the class as well as some. Or just trying to piss people off even more. Right now i dont really care what the answer is. Tka as a skill is not fun when we have to depend on med packs to take down blues.

If our class was *fine* we would not have to depend on another skill just to take out things under our power.

I, too, use medpacks to keep up with the costs for the specials now, and also agree that it should not be needed. We are supposed to be self-sufficient, last night I landed two knockdowns on a Rogue and hit them twice, because they were moving I kept getting out of range (same story blah its crap) and did a total of230 dmg to this person, who was being nailed by 12 other ranged people, I did barely anything. The sniper behind me was doing headshots for 1400, I'm using Gorax Smash for 13 pts of damage...my speed was decreased (I wasn't stunned or warcryed) and I felt like just up and using my Intermediate pistol skill to do more dmg (which with my DL44 that is unsliced) I ended up doing more dmg to the Rogue with it then my vibro knuckles by hiting with Body Shot and Charge Shot, ended up getting 500hp total off with my pistol. I guess it's functioning as intended though, right?

I am not saying the changes are fine. Find me a quote where I've said "these changes are perfectly find and were the right thing to do" and I'll apologize for ever saying it. What I've said is that these changes are not the end of the world, and all to overexaggerated overreaction does NOT help our cause, it only makes us look stupid.

When people post how they die to blues (lie) and using one style incaps them (lie) and it is impossible to play the class (lie) and everything else they say because they are a) frustrated and b) want changes ~ when people exaggerate the state of things to the point of untruth and then a developer sits down and starts trying to verify these claims, that developer is going to go, "hey they're full of **edit** -- I don't die to blues, one style doesn't incap, and i can find a way to play the class. We will look like idiots and no real problems will get fixed.

Yes there are problems, of course there are. But they haven't stoped me from being effective, making exp, soloing decent mobs, hunting effectively in groups, or anything else I used to do. If anything, PvP got just a tiny bit easier, because I can now hit on the run and have a longer change to close the distance thanks to the 75% damage decress.

There are problems, but at the same time I made about 100k experience last night in casual gameplay

There are problems, but last night a red coning master mauler jumped me and I beat him down - I can't always do that, but last night I did.

There are problems, but last night I grouped with one other person and fought on dathomir comfortably. I avoiding some mobs that were too tough -- yes there are things the game that should be too tough for us, as shocking as that sounds. But I did just fine.

There are problems, but last night I played the game in basicall the same way and with basically the same success that I always have.

Now I know what the problem is -- the problem is that I chose to adapt my chracter to the problems and many of you refuse to do that. I took master brawler for the cheaper, more effective, less resisted knockdown that comes with unarmed lunge2 and works on all mobs, and many of you refuse to do that. I took some mid level medical skills to heal myself because I felt it was appropriate for any soloing person to do that, and many of you refuse to do that. So yes, of course I am going to be more effective than you. But the choice is really yours. You can be miserable and angry and pissed off at everything, or you can forget about how unfair you were treated and how screwed class was, accept the fact that life ISN'T FAIR and make the best of it.

If you choose to make the best of it, you can do very, very well. I promise you. If you refuse to try, then I don't have any more sympathy for your unhappiness. I'm glad thunderwulf submitted his issues and I hope they get looked at. But EITHER way I'm having fun right now, and its a shame that so many of you aren't even trying to have fun. It's like you almost take some kind of sick joy out of being miserable and complaining. Not me -- if SOE nerfs something, I'll spend about five minutes expressing my frustration on that before I MOVE ON and find an alternative way to make things work. If you would do the same, you would find yourself a very successful TK like me.

Selwynn,

I have responded to your post with in a positive light but must be candid. Your post are starting to come off as self important. I think most people are concerned with a few things, first the general direction the dev team is taking melee and the specific changes in to TK's. These changes may not bother you (not saying you said they are good) but they are seen as a negative to myself and others. Let's just accept that many of us die to blues and you kill reds solo, and your just that much better than the rest of us.

I will say this your need to comment on every suggestion and thread seeming to invalidate the opinion of others is getting tiresome. I don't think it's unreasonable for TK's to ask why a pistol user has a melee knockdown move that hits for more and cost less. I don't think its unreasonable for TK's to be frustrated that using a skill with your VK's equiped cost 600+ ham. Perhaps your just an eternal optimist, that's great but your outlook does not diminish the concerns of others (which is what your post seem to try to do) I'm not sure how far along the TK tree you are, but I suggest you go to the sisters/rancors and try to fight with a group there. You will be waiting for a rez in 1 min flat, while everyone else in your group is enjoying the game content.

TKs don't have the tools to participate in the high end game, we are useless to groups in high end combat, keeping us alive (if possible) from master doc and master CM, takes too much time and resources better spent on the rest of the group with ranged KDs and state change attacks. The melee combat dynamic is broken..the more you play the more you see this simple fact. You are free to share your experinces, thats all well and good but you don't have some deep insight the rest of us don't have, just less exposure to the frusration of watching from the sideline.

My stim C's, Pet Gurrek & Webmaster, Music Healing 4, Master Doc Buffs, Master Spice Buffs.....DO NOT ALLOW ME TO PARTICIPATE in high end encounters. So perhaps we will not be "a very successful TKA" like you..you must have the magic potion that allows you to survive two 1800 mind hits in 2 seconds, please share with the rest of us. Until you do, your experinces preclude you from judging the validity of my concerns.

Thanks and have a great day

Teras Kasi are lethal, nearly impossible to knock down or unbalance(Just kidding). Facing an opponent armed with ranged weapons, high-level abilities enable him to evade blaster fire and close quickly(Not really)...

This reply is mainly to Selwynn's post and I want to start off by making it clear that I intend no offense towards Selwynn... but... I found your remarks quite insulting.

Yes, there are some noobs out there that are dumb enough that they die to a single blue from full HAM and without other distractions, but they aren't the only ones with trouble. I still, even after the nerf, am able to defeat reds on Lok and Dantooine with fair ease (not quite as much as before though). I still can defeat a savage quenker solo, but I do believe that if I properly fight this quenker and am able to prevent him from makingone singleattack back on me I should not be under a quarter HAM at the end of the fight just from the specials and not once taking actual damage from him.

As for the blues, one single blue is still quite easy and not a problem, but now it seems that 3 light blues like stupid Imperial medics and Imperial Trooper Cadets are able to take me out. In the past these would be no problem. I could understand if they were just more difficultcausing me towork slightly harder and use more strategy to fight them than before but light blues should not be able toCONSISTANTLY defeat anyone. If for some reason I just have bad luck and barely die one time I should not have the same thing happen multiple times with varying strategies all ending in failure. The only strategy that works is to draw them one at a time. You may say "well.... yeah that's the smart thing", but this should not bea REQUIREMENT to bring down a small group of light blues. In the past soloing a pair of stormtroopers was no problem as long as I could keep them together and not running in opposite directions. Now just a single stormtrooper can be a pain that causes me to lose 2/3 of my HAM. Two stormtroopers is downright, near impossible.

Nobody is saying that we should not adapt to new enviroments and game play changes. That is one of the main aspects of all martial arts, the ablity to adapt. "When you put water into a cup it becomes the cup, when you put water in a bottle it becomes the bottle, put it in a tea cup and it becomes the tea cup. Water can flow, or it can crash. Be water my friends."

Let it be noted that ALL examples I have here are derived from solo encounters, group missions are completely different and regardless of what people say I think we are still very much so effective in group missions as we were pre-nerf. Just not as much as I think really balances the game, but we are still effective and necessary, Few groups go anywhere without at least one TKA joining the fray.

=========================================================================

I take issue with the argument that we as TKA are effective in group missions. I also think being less effective does not balance the game. The last few group huntsI have been the burden on the Docs needing a rez atalmost every turn. For example, we were hunting high level mobs on Dathomir(sp?) and had 3 Master Docs in the group and both the TKAs in the group(myself and another fella) were getting wasted easily. Then the whole grouphad to wait around in camp for us to heal up andget food to restore our Con, Stamina and Willpower which seems to go to crap after a rez.I don't believe we are a necessary presence in a group. I don't see any skills that benefit the group in any way to take down mobs greater than medium level creatures. What can TKA provide to the group other than being a punching bag or a body shield? Knocking a mob down...umm...NO! Any CH can tame some medium level cats with more hit points than a Trando TKAto serve as the tank/ punching bag for the group? I do think this needs to be fixed and I plan on joining in on making a lot of noise to draw attention to the issue. Y'all should dig in and stick to to your guns and get some of the fun restored back to this profession.

since you have opted to call me a LIAR i will be less gentle than these other guys and call you what you are: an ignorant TWIT

the only stupid thing i see here is your retarded and ignorant comment...get a clue, this, at the end of the day, is a paid service...if we are not happy, no matter how strange or bizzarre the request, SOE and the DEVs will have to listen...when nearly everyone on the board is saying the same thing about a nerf...chances are...its problem...some of its whining...some of its complaining...but the point is something is wrong and needs to be address with the service...

i can't believe you would be so rude and self-aborbed as to say that people un happy with this paid server are stupid for voicing their complaints

yet again einstien....it happens...and it doesnt take spamming to happen...

what if someone told you their TKA was a twi'lick with not that large of an action and helth pool? would you still call them a liar? sure choosing that race wasnt the best choice but that isnt the point....the point is YOU WOULD STILL KILL YOURSELF BY PERFORMING THE KD

this comment pisses me off the most! apparently you are so high and mighty that you can call others LIARS when they complain about a paid service?

what are you 15??????

does mommy pay four your little computer games?????

i dont think i have read a post on the boards where an individual has been so brazen?

Rant and vent it out man. Better to get it out and let them know your experience. Hell if these boards are what got he profession super-nerfed, these boards may get some of it un-nerfed despite the few "holier-than-thou" / know-it-all comments from some kid.

Great posts for all of you here, I see this thread very different from other typical rant/nerf threads.

You guys all have your point, and this is the very first time that I agree something with honor.

Hopefully all of us will hang tight and SoE will "adjust" a little about it.

i don't care about opinions or politics or any of the back and forth nonsense going on between everybody on these boards. i feel TKA's are weak and have been weakened by the nerfs/patches but i don't care to engage anyone in a debate about something they have no control over anyway (none of you are game devs last time i checked)...BUT.....

where in the hell did you get 100,000 xp during casual gameplay in a single night? and please tell me how (grouped, planet, CH meatshield, probots, etc)???

Since I came to the realization that with current game conditions I NEED to specialize in both TKA and some form of ranged attack, I have have become much happier.
