Thread: Has anyone heard an ETA on the promised look into TKA?
Hrmph.
No "official" ETA, but here's my, well, estimated ETA.
According to Holo, the Commando fix took about a day to complete once the guy got on it. After a week or soof waiting, presumably for internal testing, it went on test center (at least I think it's on TC now). Holo has said that it'll probably be tested on TC for a couple of weeks, and will then be pushed live. Call it 3 weeks from fixed to live.
Holo has also said that the TKA fixes aren't as obvious as the commando fixes (e.g. the rocket launcher having an ideal range of zero), and that he expects it'll take some time before they know what fixes to even make. Looking at the speed of past "fixes" I'd say we're looking at a minimum of 2 weeks before they get a rough idea of what they want to do. I also think that there will be longer internal testing. Test Center may take 2 weeks, maybe more, but all told, I can't imagine the whole thing being done and live in less than 6 weeks, and that's if they get right on it.Perhaps more like 2 months... mid October.
Whenever Raph Koster gets back from Bahama vacation he'll look into it.
It's not really an ETA, more like whenever we get to it or whenever we feel like it.
I'm guessing that they will give us half the power we lost and people that haven't a clue to how powerful TK once was will post and say their happy.
It seems like I have to relearn how to play this professionevery week or so since they started nerfing us in the final weeks of beta.
We actually were powerful then, even some starting players with cdefs died often from us,thats why we've had only hate from devs eversince I believe.
I remember posts on the beta boards about a Imptk novice killing 15 rebels in Anchorhead , over and over =) though they didn't understand not to stand still when fighting brawlers... he was using our first nerfed skill ualunge, it had damage before.
every day i come here hoping to see a message not showing on Dev tracker showing more info on our situation.. the more days pass I relealize we are a still a backburner problem..
Commandos are fixen to be someone functional for the first time EVER... 2 years of testing and this class has yet to fire thier weps the way they were intended.. does this not scare anyone else?
Bioengineers still are not even close to working as intended either.. they are somewhat functional 2 years of testing and still in this unfinished state....
Smugglers didnt even have a trainer until the last week of beta...
we are working with a company that was so far behind on production SOE said release now or never...and do you know why? they didnt want to directly compete with EQ2s fall/christmas release... SWGs ship date fell not months but over a year... pushing it into the window to compete directly with EQ2...
it could literally take us years to get to the point we are semi balanced and workign as intended...
SWG has lost me as a supporter..
Boy, LucasArts thank god for your profits from KOTR or it would be another hidious Fiscal year for you...
Even KOTOR isn't that good. I like bioware, but so far the game seems very close ended to me. I bought it though, kinda regret doing it now that it takes no time to get through. It's a good FPS though, pretty much....kinda.
You guys, while I agree that the devs messed us up with the "uber" patch, I also think that they realize their mistake and are trying to fix it. The fact that they are taking a while is actually something that I find comforting because even though I have to wait, it means that the devs are looking for a real fix, not a "get it out just to shut them up" fix. Give them time, and I think that they will get it right in the end.
Wow does that not take the cake.
They know what they had before worked, and customers where happy. They implemented a change, and all of their customers became unhappy with the changes made.
Now its going to take 2 weeks for them to figure out what they changed to make their customers unhappy.
Seems like they are more interested in 100% balance, than customer satisfaction.
Guess they still need to get their priorities in order.
Personally my solution would be to 1) State they "over" nerfed Teras Kasi, 2) Roll Back the changes they made to Teras Kasi, 3) Spend the necessary time to come up with an alternate way to adjust things without nerfing them so hard 4) Make the necessary changes after testing.
