I wonder how long it'll take WoW's v1.10 to come out. (Diablo II fans will know what I mean.) ;-)

I only got this game to pass the time till WOW anyway... prepare to be owned sony OWNED your eq2 and its graphics that seem better but look worse, and its 42 classes will be roxored by WOW and its warcraft theme.

Lets see, we have what, 18 mastery skills. EQ2 has 40+, They can't even balance 18 skills, how in the hell do they expectto balance over twice that amount?

I hear they are going to deliver EQ2 by missle and just get the bombing over quickly.

Blizzard just had a major upheavel -- most of their top execustives stepped down, which is interesting.

I find it humorous that everyone acts like WoW will be the "perfect game" that saves everything. In EQ it was "when DAoC comes out then EQ will be destroyed" -- HA. In DAoC it was first "When AC2 comes out, then no one will put up with this stupid imbalanced nerfed game" - yes people actually said that. HA. Then after that it was "When Planetside comes out, no one will play DAoC anymore" - HA. Then it was "when SWG comes out, all other games will be through" -- HA.

Blizzard is a company just like any other. I agree they have made good games in the past, but they have never in their life made an MMORPG and they are going to go through the same growing pains that all companies do when the try something new. Not only that but I find it humorous that everyone is so excited about the game. So far I have read everything I can get my hands on about the game, every FAQ, every interview, watch all the videos, read look-aheads in magazines. So far WoW doesn't seem to offer much of A N Y T H I N G. It looks pretty, I guess -- personally I think the graphics are sub-standard. It's ok that it is cartoonlike, but everything looks awful blocky and not nearly as lifelike as games coming out now. In terms of content, basically the description on gameplay is TOTALLY weak - it sounds identical to DAoC only without nearly as robust a PvP system - great, just what I want.

So basically, everyone is excited about a game that breaks no ground in the graphics department and does't offer much of anything in terms of content. WoW feels like stepping back a generation or two of games, and I'd rather not sacrifice any options for that.

Even if you disagree with my assessment of the content of the game, you are just plain stupid if you don't think the first six months of world of warcraft aren't going to be complete with patch after patch of bugfixes and nerfs (D2 players remember getting to v1.10 and oh, necromancer anyone?) If you are lucky enough to start a class that isn't heavily touched, then you may think the game is great. But if you happen to get a class that does get tweaked and adjusted, which is more likely, you'll be right back in the same boat pissed of and bitching at Blizzard. I know that my opinion of Blizzard while playing D2 was that they were the most nerf happy company I'd ever seen. Oh who quickly we forget that...

Anyway, the summary of this is that most people fall into the "grass is always greener" disorder. If WoW has content options for you that you think will fit you better, than have fun. But if you think WoW is going to be the messianic game which is perfect and ends all competion, you are either twelve years old or a product of the US education system.

I have played D2, D1, Starcraft, Brood War, Warcraft 3 and 2. I agree Blizzard really knows how to make a game user friendly and good. They never f*ck anyone over with bad patches or anything. They always make the funnest, user friendly, and casual gamer friendlygames. They patch things that need to be fixed and they listen to their players. Best thing is that in their patches they never mess anything up, only fix and make things better. Now that is what I call skill.

Sony never listens to anyone, only if they start losing money they listen. Everquest for example been out for years and every week there is some minor useless patch that fixes nothing. Or like in everquest, right before they raised the monthly price plan they did couple of usefull fixes. Instead of patches they just come out with expantions on a CD as a way. LoD or whatever that frog expantion in everquest was they just made you download it off them. Nice patch for 21.95.

I know that once WoW comes out I am getting it because I know Blizzard listens to players and make games easier and funner, maybe even switch completely to it if it will be better then SWG. SWG is slowly turning into unfriendly ever-exp boring system.

That's probably true. You have to admit, though, Blizzard does have a pretty good track record with releasing 'solid' games. Sure, they have patches, just like ever other company. But, on the whole, they seem to .... oh, I don't know .... actually TEST their games before releasing them. With this fact in mind, I can see why a lot of people are eagerly anticipating WoW. Personally, I couldn't care less about WoO (I'm tired of the fantasy genre), but I am intrigued by the prospect of seeing Blizzard enter into the MMORPG arena.

Sony makes good computers, dvd's, and their PS2 is a pretty good system. But computer games they are way behind in the customer service.

Oh yes! Me too, definately. But they are new, its their first game (which is actually why I think it is not a more "adventurous" outting - I wouldn't say content or features planned currently for WoW really break any new ground. But I think thats probably by design. If Blizzard is planning their development by a "we don't want to bite off more than we can chew at once" plan - then they are very wise.

I'll be looking forward to getting WoW to check it out, but I don't expect it to be some kind miricle angelic offering. It will have the same problems as other games, and it likely to have more since it is their firt time in the market.

But I agree with you, I think long term, having Blizzard in the market is GOOD for the market overall.

SWG is fun for about a week then it gets extremely boring and repetitive. Role Playing for this game is sub par and lacks all kinds of unique content to enjoy playing the game. Combat XP has never been so boring before, it makes me want to kill myself.
