Some of you may or may not know about my post the night of the patch discussing the more positive aspects of the KD changes. I took a lot of crap for my post...So here is my new, more "experienced" reaction to the KD changes, PvP, and XP gaining.

1) Soloing is now MUCH more difficult, but I can't say that it is for the worse. Pre-patch TKA could solo almost any creature/npc in the game - where is the sense of excitement and accomplishment with that? I would agree that the devs went a *little* overboard with the new HAM costs but it is definitely not as crippling as many make it sound. Actually, I prefer it- Since the nerf I have found new ways to use the many other specials that I have acquired through my time asa TKA - particularly using stun/intimidate/blind, precision striking, unarmed hits etc...

2) THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH BEING TKA IN PVP- That's right, I said it. In a one on one situation, you will lose, no doubt - but that kinda just makes sense right? Get into a group scenario and you should single-handidly be the most feared member of your group. Last night I participated in a raid and I got more kills, and died less than anybody I was with. You CAN hit while running, and yes that includes specials. All you have to do is learn to follow VERY closely and spam the desired special - and in the case of KD just use ctrl-backspace to clear the combat queue after the first one lands. Oh yeah, and don't worry about using knucklers - especially after you get to power 4, they will just eat your HAM and give you too short of a range.

3) For those of you who slandered me when I said I could still make 800k in unarmed xp in one night - I did. I finished my last box in TKA (master precision, needed 80k combat xp) in one night with three friends on Dathomir. The point of me stating this is not to gloat, but instead to let everyone who is down know that there IS hope for you.

Now I expect to get all sorts of ignorant personal insults about me, and about how I am a "brown-noser" to the devs and all that junk. Well, please just save it. I am not trying to start a fight here, I am posting, in all honestly, what I have learned over the last week with TKA- In a hope to get more people off the boards, and back in game actually learning how to harness their abilities to their full-potential.

Vegan,

I agree with your post 100%! The patch of 8/13 has not kept me from doing what I did before it...

People are just too lazy to learn new playstyles and want ranged pvpers heads handed to them... ha...

Soloing is not my main concern, My concern is crowd managment. Because of the increaced MIND cost when using KD, even when being healed, you cannot effectivly manage multiple mobs to be able to keep your group out of harm.

If they just removed the MIND cost on KD and a number of specials, I would be more satified

Migrating your stats helps out with the mind costs.

Indeed, but the concern the drain on the HAM bar. Granted TKA is a brawler profession but the Teras are supposed to teach self-disciple and speed more than brute strength. Technique over force. Mind over matter, etc. I have little qualm with the higher mind and action costs. But the health drain is quite bad, ever with maxed health and secondary pools it is to extreme. In fact even with large use of specials I rarely am KOed for lack of mind and action, its the health pool that is the killer.

I do agree that there was need of a nerf. TKA was extremely powerful and was not as challenging as it needed to be. But like was said the nerf that was done was too extreme.

I enjoy PvP more now then ever ...

I hardly ever die I always win 1 v 1 unless the enemy is a KD spammer or if they have massive trooper pets..

PvE I just do rebel misisons for xp and cash , which im making it pretty decent imo ! KD nerf was needed but not to the degree they did it..

I agree with poster

I'll agree on one of your items, using VK is almost useless now. As far as most of what you said.. YES that can happen, not often though. If you're in a group combat and H2H them and they aren't killing you you ran into a bunch of idiots. As far of spawming your specials when your chasing them, you can spam all you want but if they don't stop to get into range it doesn't matter.

I have NO problem with the changes to TKA except, all Melee not just TKA is screwed in PvP.. PERIOD.

And our KD move cost 3 to 5 times the HAM cost of other classes, so if they increased Pistoleer for example to our HAM cost I'm happy, BUT when the can KD at 64 meters and it cost them a lot less HAM, I have a problem with that.

the point of spamming is to ensure when that small window of opportunity happens where you can hit them, you have a special lined up... and no, it works on everyone not just idiots.

I have been doing alot of PvP since the last patch. I have had to change my style alot. But I do think I have become a whole lot better of a player because of it. Yes I do think it was way overboard. But now I am still kicking the crap out of 70% of the ppl I have fought. I would not say more because I do die alot. Just like every one, you will die in pvp. I have been doing lung/dizzy comb alot. With out VKs on the range on it is pretty good. Plus I dont not chase them at all ever. I dont stay in the open. Stuff like that. You have to be smart. Stay near buildings. Let them come to you. You can get the lung off when they come around the corner before they have time to backup. Then hit them with dizzy. When they try to move again they will fall on their face. And dizzy really is better then KD when they just stay down there for a while. Plus you hit them for more when they are down like that. I still use KD. I am also a doc so I do buff my health and action. Being able to do this has alowed me to max all my mind stats. I am alos a zarbak. so my mind stats are 1000mind 900 willpower and 500 focus I think. I am at work so I would have to check. So the KD down cost while yes it still hurts, It is not too too bad while not wearing my VKs. I could live with them taking KD out of PvP all together and taking it back to prepacth for PvE. Then every one would just use a lung/dizzy comb.

I am a MTK and a novice pistoler (0-0-0-1, as a marksman 0-4-0-1). As a pistoler (NOVICE) I can solo NOW almost any creature/npc in the game. The name for that is balance, a pre-patch MTK=Novice Pistoler

I am better melee now as a novice pistoler than as a MTK. As a pistoler I can kd the mobs all day long because the pistoler kd just use acction (and not a lot) and I am a novice medic too. I can do nearly the same damage as a novice pistoler than as a MTK becauseI can use the pistoler specials all the time, the HAM cost asare really low and nearly all is acction.

One more thing, my unarmedhit3 is doing 30% less dmg with VKs now
