Thread: Clarification on Vibro Knucklers for non-Teras Kasi

Something I read recently suggests to me that the Vibro Knuckler damage is added to your base unarmed damage. I know a lot of people have assumed that using a VK when not yet a Teras Kasi Novice would be a detriment, since you wouldn't have the certification (one reason I rushed to make novice just before the patch.) But based on the "adds to unarmed damage", it should still add to damage (and more importantly in unarmed brawler levels) and speed, just not add nearly as much damage as it used to?

Is this correct? If so, there are at least a couple of unarmed brawlers I should mention this to.

In theory, it should be true. So, assuming you still get the speed bonus, and a slight damage bonus, it may be the way to go. Im yet to test this though..

No it doesnt stack. With just my fists i did around 90dmg on average, with the VK i was only doing 60-70dmg. Now that im VK i can use it so... Well theres the info you were looking for.

I too was under the impression that it stacked but I don't think it does as well. I have unarmed 4 done and on my way to novice TKA and when using the VKs, I do about 90 damage on the average. The odd thing is sometimes I do almost 200 damage to certain creatures and they're defensive isn't especially lower to the rest of the ones I do 90 on.

So in theory yes, it should still be alright to use Vks and in fact I still do since it doesn't hurt too much other then wear-and-tear on the knuckles, but I don't think they quite stack like they should. Maybe its a bug. Although I do believe your speed still matches the rate of the knuckles so that's a definite benefit.

I believe it stacks with your bonus to unarmed damage, but not with your base fist damage. It replaces the base damage you do with your fists. That's why you see a drop when you're not VK certified, but not as low as you might think.
