I recently finished grinding my character to TKM and I'm having a lot of trouble. I read about the innate armor TKAs get and I am not wearing any armor just pure clothing. However I find I get hit for 300 damage each attack. I don't believe that is the way it should be. I am CL80 and I was testing on a CL81 creature. I tried to fight with no clothing and I got the same results. I even tried to relog many times and nothing helped. Any ideas?

Ah, are you making sure you hit Improved Center of Being every 30s or so? That adds +500 to your Melee Defense and generally cuts the damage you receive by about half or thereabouts.

It helps a bit, but I see TKMs in grinding groups tanking multiple pikets and hardly getting hurt. How can they do this and I can't even stay at 75% health against one.

Well first off they are probably multiple combat profesions and so getting the benefit of Swords or Pikeman defense benefits as well. Swords is very popular for the greater damage it can inflict. Secondly they may be well equipped with Clothing Attachments to up their defenses, and they are probably eating a variety of foods/spices to ensure they have higher health, higher defenses, higher health regen etc. When you are in a group witht one, take a look at their character listing in the group window and check out the icons you see displayed. TKM/MSwords/Doc4000 is seemingly the most popular TKMish template, I see it recommended a lot.
